Level 2 heatwave warning issued for Kedah's Pokok Sena, says MetMalaysia

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a Level 2 heatwave warning for Pokok Sena in Kedah.

In a weather update on its official X (formerly known as Twitter) account at 4.30pm Saturday (April 13), MetMalaysia also said that 22 other locations throughout the country were at the Level 1 heatwave warning stage.

A Level 1 heatwave warning status indicates daily maximum temperatures of between 35°C and 37°C, and Level 2 is between 37°C and 40°C, for three consecutive days.

The areas under a Level 1 heatwave warning include Perlis, Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pendang, Yan, Kuala Muda, Timur Laut, Kulim, Bandar Baharu, Sik, Baling and Padang Terap) and Perak (Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar and Kinta).

Other areas in the peninsula affected by the Level 1 heatwave warning are Gua Musang in Kelantan and Raub, Pahang.

In Sabah, three areas are under Level 1 - Tuaran, Tenom and Beaufort - while in Sabah, Limbang is affected.
