PUTRAJAYA: The cabinet today has decided not to proceed with the Petaling Jaya Traffic Dispersal Link (PJD Link) highway construction project.

Unity government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil said the decision was made after the concessionaire failed to meet six of the 11 conditions.

"However, it is important to note that the cabinet resolved that there would be no extension of time to meet the remaining requirement precedents. 

"Previously, the company has applied twice for an extension to meet the set conditions. As a result of that failure, the project was not continued," he said in a press conference here today. 

However, Fahmi said the Works Ministry would issue a statement on this matter.
