PUTRAJAYA: The guessing game on who will be the unity government’s candidate for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election continues as its spokesman, Fahmi Fadzil, refused to divulge any information.

"Let’s wait for tonight. In just a few more hours, we will announce the candidate," he said on Wednesday (April 24).

Speculation is rife that an aide to Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming was the person identified as the candidate for the by-election.

News reports quoted Pakatan Harapan sources as saying that Pang Sock Tao, who was Nga’s press secretary, would be announced as the candidate on Wednesday night.

The Kuala Kubu Bahar seat became vacant on March 21, when its assemblyman, Lee Kee Hiong, 58, died.

Nomination Day was on Saturday (April 26), while polling was fixed for May 11.
