PETALING JAYA: The future is bright for Johor MCA with many of the speakers at its state convention being young party members.

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said this after the convention in Pontian, Johor on Sunday (Sept 1), which provided an opportunity for grassroots members to voice their opinions on the latest developments concerning the party, the government, and the country.

"A total of 10 delegates participated in the debate session, addressing various issues including political matters, party affairs, economic issues, subsidies and commodity prices, and community welfare.

"What was particularly encouraging was that many of the speakers on stage were young party members," he said on Facebook on Sunday.

Dr Wee said that he made a detailed summary in the session to wrap up the issues raised by the delegates.

"Two Johor state Exco members, Ling Tian Soon and Lee Ting Han, presented reports on the Barisan Nasional Johor state government’s work, and the National Wanita chief Datuk Wong You Fong, addressed several questions related to women's issues," he said.
