KUALA LUMPUR: Broader thinking and adaptability is important to ensure job sustainability in face of technological advancements.

Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS) founding president Tunku Datuk Zain Al-'Abidin Tuanku Muhriz said yesterday (Sept 1) the future was uncertain and it was not possible to predict exactly how roles and industries would evolve.

He said individuals must focus on the broader concept of sustainability in preparing for continuous change.

"Instead of trying to secure a job in its current form, it's more effective to prepare for a career with the ability to adjust to new roles and skills," he said during the Adni International Students Conference (AISC) here today (Sept 2).

He added that it was unrealistic for jobs to remain unchanged in face of technological advancements.

Among the conference highlights was the role of Accelerate Global social enterprise in digital upskilling to guide young people towards careers in emerging technologies.

The organisation offers curated training programmes to equip students and professionals with sustainable skills.

By analysing business needs and tailoring upskilling programmes, Accelerate Global helps organisations achieve their sustainability goals through a more proficient workforce that is adept in digital tools and techniques.
