KUALA LUMPUR: The number of flood evacuees in Pahang, Perak, and Kedah has decreased, while Selangor has seen an increase, and the figures in Perlis have remained unchanged.
As of yesterday, a total of 2,570 individuals are being housed in 18 relief centres, down from 3,781 Friday morning.
In Pahang, the number of evacuees dropped drastically from 1,259 people yesterday morning to 363 people as of 4pm yesterday, while in Perak, evacuees dropped from 1,619 people to 1,506 people in 11 relief centres in the districts of Kerian, Hilir Perak, Kampar, Perak Tengah as well as Kuala Kangsar.
In Kedah, there are 80 people in two relief centres compared to 298 people yesterday morning, but in Selangor, the number of evacuees rose from 136 people yesterday morning to 152 people last evening.
The number of evacuees in Perlis remains at 469 people, Bernama reported.
Meanwhile, the water levels of four rivers, three in Sarawak and one in Kedah, have reached dangerous levels.
