FBM KLCI: 1,527.89 pts (-20.62pts, -1.33%)

Tracking the overnight losses on Wall Street, the FBM KLCI (-1.3%) extended its downward trend as the key index succumbed to selling pressure in selected heavyweights led by SIMEPLT (-35.0 sen) and TOPGLOV (-25.0 sen). Market breadth remained negative as the losers trounced the gainers by 951-to-194 stocks. All the 13 sub-indices finished in the red, with the energy sector (-3.0%) taking the biggest hit, mainly dragged by DIALOG (-17.0 sen), followed by ARMADA (-1.5 sen), and SAPNRG (-0.5 sen).
