A lawyer by training having been called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn, UK in 1971. In 1972, he was admitted as an advocate and solicitor to the Supreme Court of Malaysia. From 1972 to 1980, Tan Sri Dato’ Tan Kay Hock managed his family’s interest in real estate, coconut plantations and commodity trading. He is a Member of the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), a Committee Member of the Malaysian Phillipines Business Council and Steering Committee Member of the Malaysia-Japanese Economic Association as a Member of the Malaysian National Committee.
