He was Chairman of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) from February 2004 until his retirement in March 2006. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President (SVP) of the Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn Bhd from June 1998 to January 2004.
He also served as Secretary-General of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment from December 1991 until March 1998. Prior to that, he was Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Social and Community Development and Deputy Director of INTAN.
