Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Economics and Accountancy from City University London, United Kingdom and qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

From 2006 until 2008, YM Tunku Afwida was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Director (ED) of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2006, she was CEO and ED of MIMB Investment Bank Berhad (now known as Hong Leong Investment Bank Berhad), and from 1995 to 2003, she was ED/Chief Investment Officer of Commerce Asset Fund Managers Sdn Bhd.
She is currently a Director and shareholder of Asia Equity Research Sdn Bhd, a company licensed by the Securities Commission of Malaysia to provide advisory services in corporate finance, including compliance and funding advisory related services.
