Working Experience
Mr Lim joined Peat Marwick Mitchell (now known as KPMG), United Kingdom in 1978. He returned to Malaysia in 1982 and continued his career in KPMG Malaysia until his retirement in 2011. He was admitted as partner of KPMG Malaysia in 1990 and was on the Management Committee from 1997 to 2001 and served on the Partnership Supervisory Council from 2002 to 2010. In 2006, he was tasked to start up the Audit Committee Institute, Malaysia (ACI Malaysia), which was a virtual worldwide initiative sponsored by KPMG to assist Independent Directors in enhancing their awareness and ability to implement effective board processes. He actively served as an examiner for Company Law examinations in the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) for over a period of ten (10) years. He was also the Chairman of the MICPA Code of Ethics Committee and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants Code of Ethics Committee from 2002 to 2004. In May 2013, Mr Lim received formal confirmation of his appointment to the Council of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) for a tenure of two years: this accolade being the first Malaysian representative on ICAEWs Council in its illustrious 130 years history. Mr Lim term was renewed for a further term of two years in May 2015.
