Mr. Tan, aged 62, has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of PINEAPPLE RESOURCES BERHAD (PRB), a subsidiary of CHRB, since 8 January 2018. Mr. Tan has a Diploma in Accounting and began his career in finance for a brief 4 years before switching to marketing and has served 15 years thereafter with 3 different Public Listed Companies namely Amsteel Berhad, Malayawata Steel Berhad and Perwaja Steel Berhad with core businesses dwelling in construction materials. In 1977, Mr. Tan left his employment and successfully started his own business trading in steel materials for the past 25 years. His vast experience and exposure in the Steel Business and being familiar with the operation of PRB should augur well with the current blend of experiences of the Board of CHRB.
