Datuk Dr. Soh Chai Hock is the National Chairman of the Malaysian Fire Prevention Council, Director General (Rtd) of Malaysian Fire and Rescue Services after 36 years service and was a member of the Post Cabinet committee in the Ministry of Housing and Local Government. In 1996, he was appointed as Vice President of the Fire Chiefs Association of Asia (IFCAA) and in 1997 was invited to sit in the United Nations Fire Expert Committee, Geneva, Switzerland. He was the Chief Editor for the Guide for Fire Protection in Malaysia and Co-founder and Adjunct Professor for the Master of Science (Msc-ERP) program in University Putra Malaysia. On his retirement from the public sector, he was appointed as a 'Fire Expert' by the Asia Productivity Organisation, Tokyo, Japan for the Government to Government Green Productivity Program in 20 Asia Pacific Countries. He has served as an Independent Director for Proton Automobile (M) Bhd, Proton Edar Sdn Bhd, Asia Insurance (M) Bhd, HOPU Investment Management Co Ltd and a director for Z'odd Design Sdn Bhd.
