Tan Wei Herng ("Mr. Tan") has over a decade of experience across various engineering fields, with a particular focus on the environmental and wastewater treatment sectors. He is currently the Director of TS Chuan Engineering & Drilling Sdn. Bhd. ("TS Chuan"), where he has been leading product and business development since 2018, under his leadership, TS Chuan has expanded its expertise into cutting-edge solutions for the sewage treatment and water treatment industry. Earlier in his career, Mr. Tan worked as a Chemical Engineer at Promethean Particles, where he was involved in the SHYMAN project (Sustainable Hydrothermal Manufacturing of Nanomaterials), funded by the EUs Framework Programme 7 (FP7). During his time there, he played a key role in scaling up the production process for nanomaterials, demonstrating his ability to manage complex technical projects within the chemical engineering field. Mr. Tan's engineering expertise extends to cooling systems for critical infrastructure such as data centers, where efficient thermal management is key to maintaining operational stability. Through his work, he has collaborated with companies in the utility and wastewater sectors to design robust, energy-efficient cooling systems that align with the sustainability goals of modern Data Center. His insights into heat exchange mechanisms and flow dynamics have been instrumental in developing cooling technologies that ensure maximum uptime while reducing energy consumption, which is crucial for the rapidly growing Data Center industry in Southeast Asia. In addition to his industry roles, Mr. Tan is actively involved in sustainability initiatives. He works with the Malaysia Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) on programs that help SMEs adopt Environmental, Social, and Governance practices. He has also conducted workshops to promote green jobs in SMEs, fostering awareness and engagement in sustainable practices among small and medium enterprises.
