Dato' Peter Tang has over 40 years of experience in the fields of accounting, auditing, secretarial, tax and governance both in the United Kingdom and Malaysia. He is an approved tax agent under the Malaysia Income Tax Act 1967, an approved company auditor under the Companies Act 2016 and an approved Company Secretary under the Companies Act 2016.
He has served in Price Waterhouse from 1983 to July 1989 after which he was the Group Financial Controller of Baxter Healthcare SA until December 1990. He has been the Managing Partner of Peter Tang & Associates, an audit and accounting firm since January 1992.
He was the co-founder and the Executive Director of Taxand Malaysia Sdn Bhd (later known as Axcelasia Taxand Sdn Bhd and Tricor Taxand Sdn Bhd), a boutique tax advisory firm which is a member of the Taxand Global which has presence in nearly 50 countries.
As a co-business owner responsible for business development, he played a critical role in building Taxand to what it is today.
In 2015, he was appointed Executive Director of Axcelasia Inc which was a holding company of various entities offering integrated professional services. Axcelasia Inc was listed on 27 November 2015 on the Catalist Board of the Singapore Stock Exchange SGX. As a part-owner of Axcelasia Inc, he was instrumental in the listing of Axcelasia Inc. He subsequently became the Chief Executive Officer of Axcelasia Inc. The Malaysian operations of Axcelasia were disposed to the Tricor Group in April 2020 and in July 2020, Axcelasia Inc was also acquired by a Singapore based entity. He was instrumental in finalising and dealing with all parties to conclude both transactions successfully.
In terms of community service, he was a member of the Audit Committee of the Council of University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR).
