That means to become entitled for a dividen one must buy the stock before the ex-date and not on the ex-date?

This stock's closing price yesterday was RM2.13, however the opening price for today is stated as RM1.96. Is it due to dividen being issued. But why the adjustment if the ex-date is today @5.00pm. Appreciate clarification. Thank you frienda.

I was thinking because its a RM0.50 share will only get get half per 1000 unit that is 5.5 cent.

Its capital repayment of RM0.02 per share. I got it as well.
