Alvinchiam, pls don't trigger a false alarm about a coming recession, there is no sign.As for Japan their own policies cause themselves a dull economy for many years, their growth was only inflated in their properties sector which they didn't address its problems for many years.
Now its bubbles have burst and they have to face the music and handle it with corrective measures if not it cannot get out of recession but go into depression instead like what US has experienced.
Yesterday, the Japanese top officers announced that they might seek parliament approval to alter the GST policies to improve their economy.
Hopefully they will implement more drastic policies to tackle their
woes and for the rest of the world it is not in recession but a slow
down in growth which is healthy for their economy.

Dracular_E,for any stream fish you need to pour away the bitter fluild that comes out from the fish.Likewise I shorten the cooking time of fish in big pot of curry soup to stop the tender meat from being overcooked and to prevent the destruction of the natural sweetness by minimising the cooking time of the fish being soak in the curry soup.

Lemon juice will make the soup sour but ginger powder will give a hotter soup which is in harmony with curry.
2014-11-18 23:18 | Report Abuse
Steam the fish for 3min will see the fluild after 3 to4 mins and pour it away then put the half cooked fish into the curry soup when it is about to be served.

Some ginger powder will rid the smell.
2014-11-18 23:12 | Report Abuse
Dracular_E the fish must steam to rid the fishy taste which is bitter.
2014-11-18 23:08 | Report Abuse
Also for the curry soup can add some blended dried pawn for tastier taste or some pieces of chicken.
2014-11-18 23:04 | Report Abuse
Correction:....rid the fishy taste esp the smell of fish blood.

Yes cumin and cinnamon must be included and right proportion.Any spice that give bitter taste must avoid unless it has strong aroma.
2014-11-18 22:56 | Report Abuse
Firebird2,for chicken or fish curry I never use garlic or onion bcos it will absorb the spicy aroma and the chilly red colour.Instead I other spicy stalks and leaves to have the taste and colours.I suggest you go to Aeon and buy the different spices and mingle them plus some relevant leaves plus different kinds of ginger, use little kunjit.
Tips:cook the vegetables separately from the curry and steam your fish to rid the fish taste.

Dracular_E,we can use milk or yogurt to replace coconut milk for more healthy eating.I don't depend on babas powder even though I use its chilli powder and a curry powder.Instead I use a lot of other spices besides other spicy leaves.
I gave these poor friends bcos even in restaurant they cannot taste my type as it is my own creation only, cheers.

Dracular_E,everybody can cook but the question is how good are you is the deciding factor of being classified as a good cook.
Cooking curry may look simple but for the curry to taste good we have into the following 1)to have a beautiful colour ie chilly red on the top to look curry 2) the meat must be soft and tasty to chew 3)the vegetables must retain its natural taste and look fresh and not overcooked 4)the aroma must be strong and able to give a spicy smell.

Yesterday,I was so busy cooking for 9 poor Christian friends who need our tender care and attention. One was a unmarried single mother with a child of 5 years old and a mother to support and other was a young divorced mother with a teenaged daughter. Both earn less than RM1500/- and can hardly survive with their mearge income so one has to keep two jobs to keep going.
I invited them to my condominium to have dinner together and had tried my best to cook the best tasty dishes for them to enjoy.
I cook 4 dishes namely 1)spicy chicken curry 2)fish curry with various vegetables 3)Baked honey chicken with lime leaves 4)Wine ginger black sauced chicken.
After that we have biscuits, fruits and tea as deserts.
The food was so excessive that they could pack back for the next day.It was a hard day work as I had to go market to buy the food and seasoned them for 6 hours before I cooked them.
Here I never look down at them, thinking I am a more superior breed but as equal bcos they never raise the word 'class'.I will only challenge those who think they more superior than me, then I will expose their
backgrounds from the surnames.
We are made equal by God whether rich or poor, smart or stupid bcos he is the One that gives us all these things.
