Well, actually herbert is too extreme on one side. Actually open up competition is very simple, it's the prerogative of Gobind Singh Deo. If I may suggest, open up Penang (Small area), all new operator can access to TM network by charging a fixed fee. Then we will see how much fee will drop.

As for TM staff, no worries, if TM can't retain their talent, other operator will ;)

No need for TM close shop, as government own the golden shares.

haha, your analogy is as though the access to broadband should be TM and not anyone else. if you look at the edge report on the broadband in sg, korea, thailand, you will notice that only a healthy competition will resulting a more affortable broadband access fee. and low broadband fee, means higher penetration of broadband, as it is more accessible than ever.

calvin, did u know both china n japan r maker of hsr? we are just user. this point is a huge point, the revenue bring in to china n japan by just using HSR as a product. not to mention china hsr building were to resolve financial slow down in 2016 as well as resources overcapacity including steel, aluminium and high skill worker.
