In 2019, the Malaysia economy grew at a moderate rate of 4.3 per cent as compared to 4.8 per cent in the previous year. All sectors posted positive growth with the exception of Mining & quarrying. In momentum point of view, Agriculture and Mining & quarrying posted a better growth while other sectors registered slower performance than the previous year.

Malaysian solar system installer Solarvest Holdings Bhd will build photovoltaic (PV) arrays with a total capacity of 4 MWp for Teo Seng Capital Bhd (KLSE:TEOSENG).

The investment holding company, specialising in poultry farming, said last week that it would invest around MYR 13 million (USD 3.1m/EUR 2.8m) in the rooftop solar systems to be installed across its chicken farms and factories in the state of Johor.

According to Solarvest, Bursa Main Market-listed Chin Hin owns a 45% stake in Solarvest. Upon completion of Solarvest's IPO, Chin Hin's shareholding in Solarvest will be approximately 33.6%.

Today, Kenanga Investment Bank Bhd analyst Teh Kian Yeong wrote in a note that Kenanga projects Solarvest to register more than 20% annual earnings growth for the next two years on orderbook of RM184.5 million.
