Just to clarify that the research of UOB is not from UOB bank, is the UOB Kay Hian broker firm, that will be the first analysis research, now banks start to research, might be because of after UOBKH distributed to them..

Maintain MYR3.93 TP but downgrade to HOLD. Following the demerger and new listing of MPHB Capital (MPHB MK, Not Rated) on 27 Jun 2013, Magnum (formerly known as Multi-Purpose Holdings) announced its long-awaited capital repayment of 48.8sen/share. Currently trading at a reasonable 15.8x/15.2x our FY13/FY14 gaming earnings estimates ex-capital repayment, we downgrade Magnum from BUY to HOLD due to narrowing upside. Investors should consider investing in MPHB Capital, which we estimate will yield 38% upside.

48.8sen/share capital repayment. Fresh from raising MYR715m (50.1sen/share) from the restricted offer for sale of MPHB Capital, Magnum announced a capital repayment of 48.8sen/share, as expected. Other salient details of the capital repayment are: (i) ex-date: 2 Aug 2013, (ii) entitlement date: 6 Aug 2013, and (iii) payment date: 20 Aug 2013. Upon completion of the capital repayment, Magnum’s share premium account will be reduced by MYR696.5m and BVPS by a similar 48.8 sen.

Current valuations are fair. The gaming business has been parked in Magnum Corporation following the demerger, while MPHB Capital houses the non-gaming businesses. At the last ex-capital repayment price of MYR3.42, Magnum is trading at a reasonable 15.8x/15.2x our FY13/FY14 gaming earnings estimates (Table 1). As there is <1% upside to our unchanged DCF-based TP of MYR3.93 (ex-capital repayment: MYR3.44), we downgrade Magnum to HOLD (Table 2).

Consider MPHB Capital instead. Magnum has done well, and investors who subscribed to the restricted offer for sale of 1 MPHB Capital share for every 2 Magnum shares at MYR1/MPHB Capital share now have MPHB Capital shares which are currently worth 44% more at MYR1.44. Our SOP-based TP for MPHB Capital is MYR1.99 (Table 3) which offers a 38% upside from the current level. Investors should now consider investing in MPHB Capital.
