I have a range of target prices. I think RM1.60 is about my average estimate and fair. It all depends on how the RM performs.

Dkwee, this counter pays 2 sens consistently every year. 2013 is special because Pohuat paid a extra interim dividend of 2 sen. The latest 1/4 accounts also show a provision for final dividend of 3 sens. Therefore 5 sens for 2013. Please see the "Disclosure" tab above for information.
I think odds are good we could see a further surge tomorrow.

RM1.00 seems to be the support. If so losses is limited. Today despite poor market, there is little selling. It would seem to me that most sellers have sold. I am trying to acquire some more.

psd57. I am confused by your last statement about "gains on disposal of ppe and a subsidiary". I do not understand what you meant by "ppe".

The mid term prospects look good. I have not sold any that I have.

I do not know what the coming results will be. I do not work for Pohuat. I suspect it could be better than 7 sens but then again the company may have to provide for bonuses etc. it is after all the last quarter. Your words of caution are wise for those who entered lately. I merely want to point out that this may not be the end of the road for Pohuat. Lets wait and see how the results go.
2013-12-30 12:07 | Report Abuse
The again I do not discount the possibility of a sell down once the results are out. I am keeping check any buying till I see what happens with the results and the market reaction after that.
2013-12-30 11:58 | Report Abuse
My own numbers are higher as I am ignoring the once off provision for bad debt for the last quarter. I am also optimistic that the RM will devalue. A 10% devaluation in the RM could translate to a 50% increase in Pohuat's margin. Once again my own 2 sens.

I am familiar with candlesticks and they do point to a top but I do not see distribution yet. I think if Pohuat could sustain price tomorrow 30/12/2013 we could all be pleasantly surprised when results do come out.

Noted that Mr. Lim Pei Tiam, a substantial shareholder is still acquiring Pohuat shares. The disclosure dated 27th December states that he bought a further 90,000 shares. The quantity is not substantial but he now owns > 10% of the issued shares. A important point to take away here is that he is still buying and not selling. LPT is a ex bank manager now turn investor. I do not think he would continue buying unless he thinks Pohuat has a future. Just my 2 sens worth.

No results today. It should come out early next week maybe Monday or Tuesday evening. Till then.....
2013-12-27 14:30 | Report Abuse
The coming result could be a good one. Pohuat recently paid a special dividend of 2 sens. This is something the company has never ever done before. Their doing it now shows the directors confidence in the company's performance. 1 thing I have learned about the market is that there are no certainties. I really cannot say that the price will rise if the result is good. I think the odds of it rising is better than it falling. To me the stock market is about balancing odds/risk with returns.
2013-12-26 18:51 | Report Abuse
Results should come out tomorrow evening. It should be good given the fall in value of the RM and the export business nature of Pohuat.
2013-12-25 14:41 | Report Abuse
Mr Ooi, I still do not understand how TA can come out with such a number. Pohuat has never risen to RM2.29. This is the highest it has ever being!!! Anyway I hope your prediction will come true.

The 1 lot at buyers price phenomena continues.
2013-12-03 11:15 | Report Abuse
Every morning, without fail, someone will sell 1 lot at the buyers price. The same person (probably) will do the same thing again and again thus setting the tone throughout the day. This is like shooting yourself in the foot. Its bad business and does not help anyone. Why do it?
2013-11-27 16:51 | Report Abuse
I think it will be OK. The initial shock is over and sellers are exhausted. The timing is also pretty bad as today's market is not rosy. I look forward to some form of recovery in the days to come.

Just saw the 3rd quarter. Its not too bad. I am actually quite happy with it. It is much better than than the disastrous 2nd quarter (8.71 sens EPS vs 4.33 sens EPS). Granted it is not as good as the regular 10 sens but it is acceptable. The dividend is 3 sens. I realised that there are people unhappy with certain Liihen directors but how many companies can you find in the KLSE that actually pays dividends 4 times a year?

Liihen deserves to be "up there"; So it is no surprise to me. Its only a question of when.

Lets hope it does that. I am curious as to why there was no support from 1.43 to 1.48. It seems as though the stock was trading on air. I am not overly worried though. I am confident of the business. I have being a investor for a while now and have seen this one plunge all the way down and bought even more a month back. It may not recover that quickly as you may wish but then again who knows. Its the stock market. Anything can happen.

I am in agreement with sense maker. This is a well run company with superb financials and track record. I would view this as an opportunity and have being accumulating this stock. Liihen will shine in the mid term.

What... very un-Pohuat but I am not complaining.
2013-10-15 11:11 | Report Abuse
Yes they should. They should not allow someone to buy in so cheaply at 1/2 NTA. This is a quality company with a good track record.
2013-10-12 22:09 | Report Abuse
Anyone know of any rumor why the volume and price spiked up today?
2013-09-12 17:46 | Report Abuse
I think the prospect is excellent but must be patient. The price is low now due to the poor quarterly result released on 28/6/2013. I am not perturbed by this as Pohuat nearly always have a bad 2nd quarter due to CNY, Raya etc. Check out past years 2nd quarter and you will see that I am right. I am awaiting the next quarter's result (31/7/2013) at end September. I think the impact of the depreciating RM will only be seen in the 4th quarter's result due end of the year. This one should be spectacular. I do not think investors like Lim Pei Tiam would make a mistake in buying into a dud. Similarly I do not believe the Dutch company would make such a mistake. My own TP is just a modest 84 sens.

Something is very wrong here and its not the Company.
2013-08-26 15:07 | Report Abuse
I fully agree. We have here a company that pays dividends dutifully to its shareholders 4 times a year. The directors have done well and has increased the EPS by leaps and bounds. To fault and bring down this company over a small technicality is I think frivolous. There are companies that have done much worst than Liihen. I am NOT selling my shares.
