@AlfI3 are you looking at the wrong share? I look at chart, 1Y uptrend, 6M uptrend, 3M also uptrend. at worse 1M is sideways around 1.70. Unless if you bought at high price right at the time when news announced for their stake sale for medical unit. This company is slow but steady, not goreng type.

@digi2222 how 1.65 x 100 = 165k? No need see the value, only see how many shares you held, then divide by 100 that is the number of shares you gonna get.

lets say I have 5000 shares, after dividend share it becomes 5050 shares, later I sell 5000 shares in market, left 50 shares. Will I get charge by the broker or bursa or anyone if I keep this 50 shares forever and not doing anything?

Market react due to oil price up, MYR depreciates against USD, then some negative news from China, loss from Thailand, etc etc, and generally down trend on most airline stocks over the world. People still need to fly, the worse the market get, people tend to downgrade from premium airline to budget airline like AA, so there will be increased demand, but due to oil price up, so demand in oil is inelastic, expensive also need to buy, which will cut thin the profit margin...remember AA almost always sell tickets months before actual travel. Apart from making money from the cash float, the cheap tickets may backfire due to higher actual transport cost.

Buy one stock already so diversify. Also got hospitality (hotel & theme parks), building materials, quarry etc etc.

Better use the money for better deployment or return to investor than waste it on door gifts and makan-makan. Most of the time the door gifts are useless. Waste of company money, became rubbish at home.

1. There are not many airline operators in Malaysia. People still need to travel. MAS said they will be changing their strategy to avoid fare-cut war with low cost carrier airline. AirAsia by far is still the largest LCC airline in Asia. People still need and will travel.
2. I personally used to take MAS almost every time between Sabah and KL because their fare is competitive (slightly more expensive but better legroom and with checked baggage and food, it is actually cheaper than the no frills fare which AA sells). However this has changed since 2 years ago. Now I hardly take MAS for domestic flights anymore.
3. People are generally forgetful, and with the bigger economic problems the previous government left to the people, low price beats everything else.
4. No matter how bad you like to think he is, his business capacity is undoubted to turn a heavily indebted company to such a huge and profitable one.
5. The new government have bigger and more imminent problems to solve than intervening in a major brand business in Malaysia. It is one of the few world-famous brand from Malaysia. I do not think the government will do drastic things to AA. Also Tun Mahathir said they are not seeking revenge. I hope this statements extends to other parties other than Najib. If they actually do something about it, they are no different than the notorious BN.
