Dude, prior to pfizer announcement, Genting was one of the most heavily shorted stocks, it was priced below RM3, and Genting NTA is over RM8... truly a ridiculous bargain. At that price, you could close shop, lelong off all Genting's assets at over 50% discount, and you would get a LOT more than RM3 cash, so that was a real no brainer purchase.
And it got pushed down there partly due to aggresive short selling.
What does being non halal have to do with anything?

Yes agreed....its difficult but not impossible tobtaje over TG...financiallly may be a herculean task but with invisible hands behind that may force the majority shareholders to relinquish control...we all know how powerful are those invisible hands.

I m quite sure tan sri is well aware that his SBB is not the right strategy to stop the slide of its share price but the main objective, in my view is to mop up as much as possible the shares from the open market...at one point, SBB was competing with one of the major local funds who had been agressively increasing its stake in TG only later reducing its stake and later even doing a SBL to shorties....sad....

I realise this is a GENTING forum so i shall stop here...like i say, its good that GENTING is not facing the same predicament of TG....being a non halal counter actually helps a bit....

This is just my humble 2 sen.

The buying of TG at cheap sales by JP i do agree but not for US...my guts feelings are JP is nominees of someone loaclly or some institutions locally who are red eyes the success of TG model and seeking to gain control of this money printing company at cheap.. thus, megatives publications on the company in particular TG non stip and relentless attack to talk down the price..

its common to see successful businesses being build up and the founders get force out. We already seen some examples in one of the property giant and the sugar refunery entity...its a concerted efforts to take it down....in my 2 sen. Well i could be wrong. Lets wait and see.

Some lazy ass just think can take over and sitting there collecting cash....

Meanwhile, its good that GENTING is a non halal counter. That delete one of the possibility.. this is just my opinion and not a sell or buy call..

I believe there is still value in there. The only thinh is the entry point...if u enter right, the money will be in the bag. Whatever it is, always be open minded and have a diversified portfolio. This will minimise unforeseen risks.

I have a diversified portfolio in gaming, gloves, tech and transportations.

I dun normally go around gaming forum promote others sectors and vice versa and i dun make predictions or making doom statement about the future prospects.

But i do share positive factual news which are documented...and i dun promote or demote... just sharing postitves vibes.

I belive in contributing positively no matter how bad the counters have fallen. If one think its over, just get out quietly. If one think its a great counter, just buy in quietly as well...
