No one doubts about the potential long-term benefits of the CU franchise. The worrying part is when will it breakeven? 2 years or more?
Can i be assured that i can hold this stock comfortably without going through wild swings at the mercy of operators trading in and out by abusing the notion of "potential long-term prospects"?
If i buy at the peak, which is now, and the next quarter is another loss, do i hold or sell if the price falls below my cost? what is the right mindset to hold this stock for 5 years to fully unleash the CU potential?

10 CU or 100 CU, don't matter. the problem is right now, no one knows for sure how "profitable" is this venture. or if it is profitable, how long are we going to see results? 2 years? 5 years?
how long will it even take to breakeven? mynews already publicly mentioned breaking even will take several years before bearing fruits.
it's a long journey for long-term investors, which is fine but for trading purposes, people just wanna get out after making a tidy profit.

Hi ValueInvestor888, your analysis and calculation may be inaccurate. Several concerns here, and correct me if I'm wrong:
1) Material litigation case with theStar for Pacific project. The full impact is not known yet and may bring additional losses to Jaks depending on court judgement.
2) Further LAD charges may incur.
3) Further impairments on assets like goodwill, etc.
4) Power plant profit of RM180m per year is inaccurate. Is that full profit or Jaks' share only. As i know lifetime profit attributable to jaks is only USD213m.
Pls clarify the above and not simply pluck figures from the sky.

Uzma won so many new contracts, oil prices are relatively stable, vaccination is out, why the stock price did not reflect all these and it's sliding so much further?

the founders are not doing enough marketing for Innature. Not many have heard of this stock and many Bodyshop customers themselves are not aware Bodyshop is listed in Bursa.
the founders need to appear more on the news and social media to promote the company. or get a research house involvement to analyze this stock

anyone can come to a mathematical conclusion to say jaks is a good counter despite endless surprises to shareholders.
but the company is too mired in it's own set of problems and come back haunting loyal shareholders again and again. and always, loyal shareholders tend to ignore these and hope for a better quarter.
my question is, there is a growing sense of distrust in the founder of the company where it has been quite obvious there is an operator behind taking advantage of these surprises or bad news at the expenses of shareholders.
if u'd like to trade the stock, by all means. but if u are a loyal shareholder, u are better off investing in counters that are profitable in an ethical manner and not lured into something which not materializing.

I think generally Mynews is on a good track. however, it's just that retail traders these days are very impatient and tend to buy/sell very actively based on slightest news.
Also, the majority tend to take profit quickly and buy other counters to take advantage of corrections. it's hard to see everyone on board on this and stay invested for 5 years until all 500 shops are opened to unlock the full potential.
no doubt it will go higher but it won't be a straight line and investors must brace for corrections if any. don't be tempted to sell even if it goes below ur cost if u know for sure this company is doing well for the next 5 years.

those who keep mentioning jaks made profit from power plant, do u mind explaining why it still incur such massive losses? where do these massive losses come from?

actually the Jaks share price has risen significantly right after the rights issue for no reason. those were the time of the bull market where people just buy anything blindly after the sharp fall. the price overshot way ahead of it's fundamentals and now it's proven to be a mirage. if 2mr the price still hold well, it's better to get out

ugh this jaks is just burdened with so many negative events right now, making it ever so hard to invest.
material litigation which is never-ending, ridiculous amount of impairments. what's next that management has not promptly inform us? management is doing a really shit job not managing expectations of shareholders but instead keep throwing out surprises.
the powerplant project can only help so much, it's not a get out jail free card that u can use forever.
i'm beginning to think if this is really a con-man company seeing how KYY was mercilessly kicked out.

i'm new here and just only invested in Innature also. Nice article. the lacking attention to this counter is true. maybe it's good to collect now before people know this counter.
the next quarter results should be even better than the one just release hor?

MiaoMiao7, few things here. firstly, problem is, Mynews is still expanding it's existing stores. this is available in news articles and their annual report. until today i have no idea why management still put so much hope in mynews and not focus 100% on CU. they intend to open 100++ mynews stores this year. this is something that concerns me.
and how many people can buy and hold for 3 years? it's a good warren buffett talk but doesn't quite make sense in the current bullish stock market. impatient traders would not stick to one stock if it doesn't move up anymore. just look at dataprep, AT, fintec. loss making companies with potential too but now it's in the dust. only can blame the greed of people.
they will switch to other stocks and find opportunities, otherwise they will lose out in this rare bull run. 3 years is too long time to wait for many people when now is a bull run and can easily make money by trading in and out.
