@cmlow1958 Yes, there will be adjustment to the price on ex-date of warrant issue, IF the mother share is above the warrant exercise price.
Solarvest WA exercise price is RM1.50; assuming mother share price is RM3.50 on by ex-date, the formula of adjustment is as follows:
Since 1 warrant given per 4 mother share,
> ((4 * RM3.50) + (1 * RM1.50)) / (4 + 1) = RM3.10
So the mother share is adjusted to RM3.10 on ex-date. To calculate adjustment price, just replace the RM3.50 in the equation with the relevant mother share price.

@Shayidbai the price drop to 2.37 because of the warrant. Calculation is:
((2.67 * 2) + (1.77 * 1)) / 3 = RM2.37
That is why yesterday opened at RM2.37

I am the same with @piranha88 and am No. 1. However, SCIB has good fundamentals and it is likely to achieve ~RM3 again or higher depending on their upcoming QR announcement.
For me, my investing style is not long term and prefer to take profit at recent peaks, then reenter at retracement points
2021-01-29 16:57 | Report Abuse
With RM2.37 ex date price, coupled with selling pressure, it will be a good time to collect on Tuesday

those are just my personal thoughts, i might be wrong. in the end, it's really up to you whether you'd like to hold or sell. it just depends what kind of investor you want to be
2021-01-29 14:42 | Report Abuse
Once retracement happen, say to RM1.90, just reenter and hold until QR release
2021-01-29 14:37 | Report Abuse
I have sold all my holding in SCIB today. I am okay without the warrants, will reinvest in mother share once retracement happens next week
2021-01-28 13:19 | Report Abuse
That is ASSUMING you manage to sell all your share at the adjusted price of 2.92 on ex-date opening. if sold lower then you need to sell warrant at higher price
2021-01-28 13:17 | Report Abuse
@ongmari if it touches RM3.5, adjusted price will be RM2.92. Difference of RM0.58 per mother share, so to cover you need to sell warrant at RM1.16

To continue from my previous post, since price has adjusted from RM3 to RM2.59, you hence make a "loss" of RM0.41 per mother share. To cover back this "loss", you need to sell your warrants at RM0.82 per warrant. It is double because for every 2 mother share they give you 1 warrant, hence each warrant must be sold at 2 * RM0.41 to match mother share
Since price of warrant is determined one day before listing date i.e. 15th Feb, the mother share price should touch RM2.59 for warrant value of RM0.82, because RM2.59 - RM1.77 = RM0.82.
However, if we consider a 30% premium on warrant price at RM0.82, the mother price then needs to reach only RM2.59 / 1.3 = RM1.99
Please correct me if i am wrong

I think i may have found the answer here http://taadress.ta.com.my/Circular/G%200011%20of%202016%20Guidelines%20Reference%20Price%20Calculation_Corporate%20Action_New%20Listing.pdf
1. Price adjustment of mother share on ex-date is on page 8, point 5
> ((2 * [mother share price before ex-date]) + 1.77) / 3
> Taking rm3.0 closing as example, ((2 * RM3) + 1.77) / 3 = RM2.59
> So mother share price is adjusted from RM3 to RM2.59. If mother share price is below 1.77,
there will be no adjustment
2. Determination of warrant price on listing date is on page 24, point 3
> Warrant price will be determined based on price before day of listing i.e. 15th Feb
Please do correct me if i am wrong
2021-01-28 12:10 | Report Abuse
Seems like mother share on ex-date will be adjusted, but I am also wondering whether warrant price is determined either from 1. price on ex date or 2. price before day of listing?
2021-01-26 20:12 | Report Abuse
@HamsterHuat Apologies if I am incorrect, but this is to my understanding regarding ex-date and entitlement date. I agree, please check with your remisier to better understand the dates regarding the free warrants
2021-01-26 19:11 | Report Abuse
You must hold onto your shares until the Entitlement date to be eligible for the free warrants.
"Issuance of up to 245,265,000 warrants in Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad ("SCIB") ("Warrant(s)") to the existing shareholders of SCIB on the basis of 1 Warrant for every 2 existing ordinary shares held in SCIB held as at 5.00 p.m. on 3 February 2021"
So your shares bought before ex-date must be held past 5pm, 3rd Feb. If sold on ex-date (2nd Feb), you will not be entitled
Thereafter, the issuance of these warrants is on 16 Feb

regarding ex-date, buying shares on/after the ex-date does NOT entitle you to dividend/distributions. Hence buying shares on ex-date itself will not give you free warrants
2021-01-26 18:26 | Report Abuse
Basically, to get free warrant, you must buy shares before the ex-date of 2nd Feb. Since 1st Feb is public holiday and bursa closed, you can only buy the shares up until 29th Jan. Once you buy your shares, you must hold these shares until the Entitlement date, which is set on 3rd Feb. So, you must hold these shares that you bought before the ex-date, until 5pm 3rd Feb for you to get the free warrants

Powerinvestor you seem to be a hot head aren't you? I did not even mention that you were wrong and I am aware about SAS' CFO.
Be less defensive and neutral and maybe we'll have a more meaningful conversation.
