Margins set to rebound; upgrade to Add
■ We upgrade BFood to Add from Reduce with a higher GGM-based TP of
RM1.00 as earnings are set to improve on higher sales and margin recovery.
■ Key re-rating catalysts: i) robust store expansion to drive sales growth, ii)
margin expansion as input costs ease from 2HFY24F, iii) rebound in tourism.

• Zetrix advancing to deep monetisation stages.

Zetrix’s potential is gaining more clarity as the blockchain platform is on track to be integrated into China’s and the Philippines’ customs, with the China blockchain services targeted to be commercially launched in Oct
23. The key scope of services includes the issuance and authentication of the certificate of origin (COO), smart contract information verification and blockchain-based digital signing. We expect more Zetrix token sales in 2H23 as the customs project is commercially launched and starts generating transaction fees and gas fees which are settled with Zetrix tokens. We understand that the exchange has underwritten US$5m Zetrix tokens.

• Blockchain roll-out reaching its boiling point.

My EG Services’ (MYEG) Zetrix blockchain roll-out is coming to a head as the potential becomes increasingly clear ahead of the upcoming initial coin offering (ICO) at end-September. The official launch of its certificate of origin (COO) authentication service alongside China Customs is slated for Oct 23 and represents the maiden commercial deployment of the Zetrix platform. Contributions from both Malaysian and Philippines transactions are expected to drive up demand for Zetrix tokens, underpinning our assumptions of a good subscription rate for the ICO.

Comparison with immediate preceding quarter’s results

The Group recorded a higher revenue of RM16.18 million during the quarter under review as
compared to RM12.53 million recorded in the immediate preceding quarter ended 31 March 2023.
This was mainly due to increase in new orders from managed IT services and trading of ancillary
hardware and software segments in the current quarter under review.

In tandem with the higher revenue recognised during the current quarter under review, the Group
also recorded higher administrative expenses compared to the immediate preceding quarter ended
31 March 2023 following the Group’s continuous business expansion.

Consequently, the Group reported a higher profit before tax of RM3.97 million during the current
quarter ended 30 June 2023 as compared to RM3.08 million in the preceding quarter ended 31
March 2023.

Prospects

The outlook for the IT infrastructure and cybersecurity sector remains robust due to demand for IT
solutions to support the digital transformations initiative of organisations.

The Group’s customer base in the People’s Republic of China (“PRC”) has expanded beyond
Shenzhen (where the Group is based in in the PRC) to other parts of PRC such as Beijing, Shanghai
and Fujian. In addition, the Group has also secured new projects from new customers in Asia Pacific
countries including India, Singapore and Japan.

Board is confident in the management’s ability to take advantage of the promising market possibilities
by leveraging on our established track record and the strong technical capabilities of our team to

TP 1.00 by UOB 30/8/2023

 Higher earnings in 2H23. We expect higher earsnings in 2H23 with higher contribution from cross-border transactions with the expectation of higher tourist arrivals, especially from China. GHL had also announced its partnership with Standard Chartered Malaysia to provide merchants with comprehensive payment solutions. We expect this to continue benefiting both its TPA and shared services segments.

 Micro lending services in Thailand and the Philippines. GHL is expanding into micro lending services, disbursing RM10m in 2022 and RM20m in 1Q23 in Malaysia. The lending business’ targeted customers would be GHL’s merchants as GHL has access to their transactions and business data for better risk management. GHL targets to have RM8-12m disbursement per month in 2023 with GHL starting to launch the micro lending services in Thailand and the Philippines. The management mentioned this would contribute about 6% of its total revenue in 2-3 years’ time.

Variation of Results against Preceding Quarter

The Group recorded a profit before tax of RM9.04 million for the current quarter ended 30
June 2023 as compared to RM4.37 million in the preceding quarter ended 31 March 2023,
showing an increase of RM4.67 million or approximately 107%. This was mainly due to gain
on foreign currency exchange and increase in sales in both local and oversea markets.

Prospects

While the global economy is on the road to recovery, it continues to face challenges and
uncertainties. Rising inflationary pressures from factors such as surrounding trade dispute
policies and barrier, currency depreciation, higher raw material prices and natural disaster
have impacted the market volatility.

However, the Group remains vigilant about the challenges and continues to make progressive
developments in the business by expanding its product range.

In the transformer products, we are experiencing robust demand from data centres, industrial
machinery and the medical industry. The recent need for efficient cloud storage management
has further driven growth of transformer demand in the data centre industry.

Globally, the emphasis on and recognition of environmental, social and governance (“ESG”)
factors have grown significantly in recent years, leading to increased demand for
governments, companies, and other stakeholders worldwide to practices and emphasizing on
the ESG sustainability agenda. The energy transition and master ESG with green technology
will get ahead to drive an increased demand in energy saving products like LED Lighting,
Intelligent Lighting, Control System and Sensors.

To be aligned with the growing demand of ESG data to address economic, social and
ecological challenges of the city, the applications of our in house brand ILCS for the
intelligent lighting control system ("iLCS") which include smart lighting, traffic adaptive
illumination (tai), parking management, environment analysis, smart metering and internet of
things (IoT) connections. can generate valuable information and data to operators,
municipalities, and other stakeholders for better ESG practices and disclosures give us a good
prospect and better market position.

In our die-casting products, beside to continue our business expansion as the OEM Partner for
aluminium die-casting parts in the global market, we have expanded our range of motorcycle
component parts for the after-sales motorcycle spare parts industry and strengthen our
position as a trusted supplier in this thriving market.

In conclusion, the management will keep re-assess the goals and strategies of the Group to
ensure business resilience and are committed to observing and adhering to ongoing policies
and requirements related to sustainability.

Based on our projections, we anticipate that the financial performance for financial year
ending 30 June 2024 will remain satisfactory and together we work towards a more
sustainable future.

With its flagship Zetrix token set to be listed next month on Coinstore, a SG-based crypto exchange, token sales are expected to pick-up further in 2H23. Blockchain upside could be sizeable

We are seeing decent traction in MyEG’s blockchain development as it enters the
rollout stage for government-related services. In Apr 2023, the group formed a
partnership with GACC to provide a cross-border customs trade solution using
MyEG’s blockchain technology that could enhance the transparency and
efficiency of the customs process. The group is undergoing the pilot run on the
platform, and is on track to go for full commercialisation by 4Q23, according to
management.

The monetisation of the blockchain-based customs platform will come mainly
through the issuance of Certificate of Origin (CO), which is a compulsory
authentication process for all inbound custom trades from Malaysia into China.
MyEG expects to collect a fixed fee for each CO issued, therefore the revenue
upside hinges upon the total volume of inbound trade from Malaysia into China.
Based on the ZTrade website, which is the official portal for the Malaysia-China
cross-border blockchain platform powered by MyEG’s Zetrix, the group is charging
up to Rmb200 per CO submission.

Management expects the Malaysia-China customs process to officially shift to the
new platform this year. Therefore, the group could see an uptick in its revenue
and margins by 4Q23F, the latter due to higher sales mix from the high-margin
blockchain business. Beyond Malaysia, MyEG is also aiming to implement a
similar solution for other SEA countries as part of strengthening the economic
partnership across the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP)
members. It has already signed agreements with the Philippines Bureau of Customs (BOC) and Cargo Data Exchange Center Inc (CDEC) for a collaboration
to roll out blockchain-based customs clearance and processing services for trade
flows between the Philippines and China. Figure 6 shows the China imports from
several ASEAN countries, which reflects the relative upside revenue opportunity
across ASEAN countries on the blockchain solution. As per management’s
guidance, Malaysia-China currently offers the highest revenue upside as Malaysia
has the highest import value vis-à-vis other countries.

Zetrix’s planned soft ICO should gain good traction. We understand that Zetrix’s initial
coin offering (ICO) would feature in a high-tier over the counter (OTC) exchange in Sep 23,
and we anticipate good subscription rates for Zetrix. We retain our assumption of 2023 token
sales at 5.5m Zetrix coins @ USD5/coins (estimated 1H23 sales: c.2m coins).
