"China banned a top-performing quant fund from the stock-index futures market and vowed tighter oversight of high-speed trading, expanding a crackdown on computer-driven investment strategies that some have blamed for exacerbating market turmoil."
.......................................................
China's regulators are getting serious about bringing order to its markets. But won't be surprised if such technologies and groups eventually find their way into our Bursa. No one can win against these high speed quant trading, and our SC is known to be notoriously ineffective in their regulatory oversight, imo.

Most people offhand will look down on their properties like food courts etc ... but in terms of cash flows and collections, they are probably better than owning a highrise with poor tenancy rates.
Anyway, aside from its bashed down stock prices, I think many big time vultures may be circling to look at his list of properties, esp those in Penang & KL. In Perak, it's mostly in Sitiawan ... actually not too bad an investment if you can see the future of that town with the WCE opening up, just my opinion. These vultures will be looking to buy the properties, not the stock.

BUT if the stock price is pressed down hard enough, perhaps the whole company becomes the easier way to 'own' the properties. Whichever can takeover Rapid, can hive off the properties to cover the financial liabilities ... and may end up in a very positive position, with some pretty decent land, and can bulid Rapid into a more dynamic group with a focussed core business.

This is not just a hollow company like some of those virtual 'IT' companies and we see quite a few in this market itself. It does have some tangible assets. It's just a poorly managed company with their 'transactions' being called out by the auditors. Problem with family members being involved in the business. Market cap at current RM116mil can be considered quite supsupsuay (or peanuts) for some of the big players. But they will probably want to press down further so that the proposition becomes even more attractive, after factoring in the company's debt obligations. Buy the assets or buy the stock to own the company, then hive off the assets ... maybe this possibility will happen sometime soon?

At 20 sen post-consolidation, the old price equivalent would be 0.00667 ....

See how they work? Before consolidation, they can't unload at 0.01 and they didn't want to take a 50% hit if they just unload at the next level which was 0.005. So they carried out this 30:1 share consolidation exercise. Many blur2 sotong got caught as they suddenly saw a 'gap up' in the charts, which obviously was artificial and unadjusted yet. Some probably thought the company has finally turned around or some good news, etc. Those were unknowingly but actually buying at 0.01 old price if they had chased at 30sen post-consolidation. And the mgmt had managed to cash out a chunk of their holdings at an otherwise mostly untradeable price. Since, they can slowly sell down over the days without taking that old 50% hit. Hope you guys understand that ... bilis will always be bilis, but it's time to think like sharks, sometimes. It's good for your financial health.

With new mgmt and all that, it's probably worth a chance. Can't say whether Minetec is good or bad until the new mgmt is proven. Technical chart-wise however, there are probably still some downsides to go depending on overall sentiment of the markets. Support may be at 0.135 and if slips some more, may go down to 0.11 or 0.105. Just mho. DYOR...

Most folks who did not follow this AT long enough will think there is a future for this counter. Think again. Those who had held on long enough must realize that if they sell now, whatever they sell, they are actually selling at below RM0.01 .... old price.
If there was no share consolidation, it'd be hard to sell off unless you sell off straight to 0.005. This consolidation is one way for those bosses to sell down slowly without the bilis feeling the sell off. At 0.26 price right now, the old equivalent price would be RM0.0087. The bosses will keep unloading. The bilis will think they are getting into a bargain, will jump in and will happily hand their money over, only to see their investment evaporate over time .... when the bosses start to issue PPs and Esos.

Syed Saddiq should not be friendly or work with Mahathir & Muhyiddin if he had hoped to work with Anwar. The distrust of Mahathir & Moo by Anwar, is just too deep, especially after being played out, not once, but twice, or maybe more. Saddiq's inability to distance himself from the two is his own downfall. No one else. At least officially in the opposition now he can play his opposition role to the max. And I think most folks will expect to see him play that even more, unless he's superficial in his so-called 'principles'.

The big boys like KWAP and KWSP, have been bailing out. Only heroes like small ikan bilis are swimming to the rescue. Any companies facing court cases are no good as far as their stocks are concerned, imo. It's distracting, it's damaging, and in this particular case, it has gone from bad to worse, and the worse part is the top shareholder and/or directors had gone on an aggressive mode which may not necessarily be a good thing to the public image.
And I think, in the eyes of the public at large, the company's choice of legal representative could have been much better thought out.

The Government could have easily imposed windfall tax but did not as this would send an adverse signal to the market. Instead the PN Government gave the Big 4 to play an important role in vaccination. The donated RM 400 Mil. So we should support the current Government and work hand in hand.

Based on the charts, 1.15 is fair price in terms of recovery from that kneejerk sell off. Then anything above that is based on the future value of its business.

As I said, yesterday was pure knee jerk panic selling. With or without 'involvement of PBB' the deal by itself has merits. The long term prospects sounds good. Cambodia is a fast developing economy, and when you read the details of the deal, this is not just a conventional banking license. It include digital banking.

Good for those of you who bought at the low. Sorry for those who panicked for no reason except for PBB's denial statement which had nothing to do with the Gcap company but an editorial boo-boo by the media.

https://www.nst.com.my/business/2020/12/647944/g-capital-ventures-new-commercial-bank-cambodia

NST had it correctly ... no mention of PBB involvement. Invest in the company if you see the value in this venture, not invest in it just because it's linked to the big bank. Think, if this is a business of PBB, shouldn't you all be investing in PBB instead? Some more they will be giving 4 for 1 bonus shares. Instead you guys gambled on this counter.

However, I think much of bigger investors' money are in this not because of the mention of PBB, but because of the great potential/value of the new venture in Cambodia. Imagine a brand new bank .... even though it is in Cambodia. In fact, because it is IN Cambodia, a fast growing economy that there is very good potential.

I saw the waterfall today, I think it was just panic selling, with many not knowing what the heck was happening. But now that much facts have come in, I think folks will be calmer and more analytical. Small retail investors were mostly the ones being slaughtered.

Still, tomorrow there may be many selling down, plus the T+3 force selling, I see good opportunity for anyone looking to take advantage. But I don't think it will limit down again. No reasons for that at all. The story has not changed, just the perception of punters, maybe.

Just an analysis of the waterfall situation.

Why uncle left his article hanging halfway? Probably written by him in full geram-ness or written by some underling hiding behind his skirt. Whatever it is, it just shows a very pathetic lack of due diligence. There is nothing to hide as everything is available for checking, including all those announcement made to Bursa. The company never claimed to have made any gloves, the revenues reported all there for people to see, and the diversification plans are also laid out for everyone who is as seasoned as uncle to check and verify.

If Mak, the boss, invites me to visit the plant I sure will ask for more info, more than what I can read off the public sphere. In fact, it would be privileged info, privy only to potential Private Placement candidates, imo. So it is ridiculous for uncle to even claim that he is not aware of all these when he took up some shares in the company. Truly beyond ridiculous!

From his article above, me thinks uncle is seeking a PP offer at the same price of 0.035. That is impossible! Where was he when those PP were made? He wouldn't have even bothered to take a look. Why? Because it was just plans and proposal only .... it'd be worse than the current situation as the unknown and the risks are high that the company will not even embark properly into this diversification. Those who took up the early PP at 0.035 should not be envied by anyone, because they were willing to take a chance and accept the risks back then.

So, if uncle want in now, just don't be a sour grape and just grab some of the current PP on offer and pay decently for it lah. If you don't see the potential, don't even bother with it. Move elsewhere and be done with it. Don't make a turkey of yourself during this Thanksgiving season.

I suspect a lot of what looks like ikan bilis trades may not actually be by ikan bilis punters, but instead could be the manipulators themselves masquerading as ikan bilis in order to attract more ikan bilis and then trap them all. Over and over they keep frying the ikan bilis.

So, the real investors should park at limit down and just wait. No limit down, no play. Let them play themsleves and shiok sendiri ...

If the warrant is 0.18, the mother MMAG should be coming down to less than 0.40. The current price levels are still too high. The ikan bilis investors are given the owners and syndicates too much face by keep on buying it up. When the buying stops, the killing (or ikan bilis) will stop too.

Stock

2020-09-18 13:07 | Report Abuse

The warrant for this stock has fallen to limit down level. The mother share is being held up by big sharks taking ikan bilis nibbles ..... but once they decide to throw, most of the real ikan bilis will be hung out to dry. The downward pressure on the mother share will be getting more and more intense if the warrant stays low at that level, something has to give. Either the warrant rebounds or the gravity-defying mother share plummets.

Mother share and warrants cannot logically maintain such a divergent track .... the lack of scrutiny in the movement of this stock by Bursa, has allow such a scenario to happen. I think the mother share itself will correct as there is not enough info/news/fundamentals to justify it remaining at that level. A plunge of similar magnitude as was seen in the warrant of the past two sessions, would bring the mother share down to below the 0.90 levels, based on its recent history.

It is true that Macquarie is the issuer of some of the call warrants on these glove makers. You have to seriously wonder if there is conflict of interests in them issuing such analysts' calls. Either way, they may stand to benefit from such calls.

Last Friday, the BFM Morning Run crew spoke with Ed Clissold, Chief U.S. Strategist at Ned Davis Research who gave some enlightening explanations on what happened to Softbank's options.
https://www.bfm.my/podcast/morning-run/morning-brief/were-derivatives-and-softbank-behind-the-tech-rally
(Just listen from 0:50 to 4:00 will do)

This can be similarly explained for what Macquarie did with Topglove ... it is probably in their interests to move market this way or that. Analysts are never as independent as you think.

Someone was looking at some tiny listed companies, and asked me how much it would take to have controlling stakes in some of these companies, without triggering mandatory offer. I have no idea. Anyone knows?
Percentage-wise, can an investor be the controlling stakeholder if he buys up about 30% of the target company in the open market? Some of these have so small market cap that they can easily be 'taken over;, he said.

@Shareview123
"Those who bought 100,000 shares before ex date and can sell 100,000 shares after ex date must be God's chosen one, may be you are the chosen one."

Sorry friend, I'm definitely not the chosen one ... I'm just trying to learn.

As for my earlier comments, it was in reference to your earlier 2.28pm comments, the scenario 2, where there's no consolidation just a straight 2RI for 1 original share. Which is this one:

"2 ) if no consolidation of 50 become 1 and just right issue of 2 for 1 at 0.105 ( just leave free warrants issue aside). Most likely all the retailers will not subscribe for the Right issue, and the major shareholders, banks and the underwriters have to pay. Say the listing price after right issue completed is 0.10, the shareholders with 100,000 shares can sell all at 0.10 and get 10,000 campared with his original cost of investment of 3500, his gain is 185 % or
6500 ( 10,000 less 3500 ), in this case all the retailer buyers will be laughing."

Help me understand why they need wait till RI is completed then only sell in such a scenario. Thanks!
