ACCEPTANCE OF LETTER OF AWARD FOR PROJECT MENAIKTARAF LOJI RAWATAN AIR SUNGAI LIMAU, DI DAERAH BALING, KEDAH DARUL AMAN

1. INTRODUCTION



The Company is pleased to announce that the State Government of Kedah has on 18 April 2021 awarded the tender for the proposed project “Menaiktaraf Loji Rawatan Air Sungai Limau, di Daerah Baling, Kedah Darul Aman” (“Project”) to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Widad Builders Sdn. Bhd (“WBSB”) and was duly accepted by WBSB on 21 April 2021.



WBSB is principally involved in construction and integrated facilities management activities.



2. VALUE AND DURATION OF THE CONTRACT



The total contract value of the Project shall be based on a sum value of RM89,800,000.00 only and the contract period shall be 130 weeks commencing from 2 Mei 2021 to 28 October 2023.



3. FINANCIAL EFFECTS



The Project will not have any impact on the issued share capital and substantial shareholders’ shareholdings of Widad. However, it is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of Widad and its subsidiaries (“Widad Group” or the “Group”) over the duration of the Project.



The Project is expected to be funded via internally generated funds and/or external borrowings.



4. RISK FACTORS



There are no foreseeable significant risks other than operational risks associated with the Project during the project period.



5. APPROVAL REQUIRED



The Project, being part of the ordinary course of business of Widad Group, is not subject to the approval of shareholders of Widad or any relevant authorities.



6. DIRECTORS’ AND MAJOR SHAREHOLDERS’ INTEREST



None of the directors, major shareholders of Widad and/or persons connected with them have any interest, whether direct or indirect, in the Project.



7. STATEMENT BY DIRECTORS



The Board of Directors of Widad is of the opinion that the Project is in the best interests of Widad Group.
