If one sold MBSB at the first day of listing of RI on 29 Jul 2016 at highest price at RM0.71 with the same entry cost of RM1.33 as above example. He make a loss of RM0.50.

Yes I know but you can not say the RI price is Rm0.59 because you entitled a 41 cents "bonus issue" . Look, it is before Companies Act 2016 cancel the par value so the RI price must not below RM1.00 of its par value. If the par value still presence, MNRB RI must not lower than RM1.00.
2018-10-10 09:56 | Report Abuse
MBSB RI price in 2016 is RM1.00. after 2 years plus, it is RM1.00. In between you got Rm0.08 cents.

Contrarian, someone pretending he is value investor said it is a value buy and fat dividend is coming, it is good stock, bla bla bla.. One of the indicator of whether a stock value buy or value trap is look its return over 5 years like what we see in unit trust portfolio. Only mid to long term investor mind whether the management of a company really appreciate loyalty of the share holders or not. Those short term players/shark just want to goreng n sell his share to naive investor or trying to gain the gap of up down of price.

Conclusion: iphone 4 n Contrarian, both you are right!

Thats right! Contrarian. The big two's cost will always lower than retails. Big shark's profit doesn't guarantee small fry will make profit too.
2018-10-03 12:16 | Report Abuse
Either way, the major two will be the winner.
If OR fully subscribe by retails, they are happy no need to come out extra pocket money with controlling portion still not diluted.
If OR under subscribe, they can get excess OR for free.
Why they need to buy OR now?
Are small share owners have deep enough pocket to buy excess and OR as much as possible to leverage the cost? food of thought. :)

2018-10-02 15:12 | Report Abuse
Iphone4, thanks for your recommendation. MNRB is a good share indeed, on paper. Insurance is one of the frequent get con industry. Seeing recent developments like mismanaged of several GLC, creative accounting of MOF and money laundry of 1MDB (you see the figure on paper but cant find real cash), it push me off.
Where is the profit for the passed few years? Why so desperate? How's cash flow of the company?
I wish my worry is wrong. Very wrong.

PNB not only can buy unsubscribe RI but also can privatise it. What we discuss here is the interest of small share owners, are they benefit? Especially those super loyalty smallholders whom stick to the share for the past 5 years.

During par value era, the big player must push up the share price so that the RI price wont lower than RM1. Now they can lower n lower it
thus can increase the share quantity. No mercy to the small holders who call them long term value investors.

with ratio 5:7, it is like IPO another MNRB in the size of 1.4 of existing.
Someone who always sang the goodness of this share has gone missing since the price had successfully push up over the last two days before today. Notice?

We should ask another question : why not spin off Takaful Iklas? In this way it can raise fund too and give exposure to its brand name, moreover release value of the mother and thus all share owners benefits.

After money raised in their hand, major shareholder can say whatever they want.. Especially when share price far less than NAV. Wow.. 90cents..this will save a lot for privatization..

It is rare for 5:7 ratio. The major shareholder can easily privatise the co if they fully execute their right and buy excess which minority give up and in this low price!!!!!

If not mistaken, Mflour just built a new jetty some 5 years ago in Lumut flour mill plant. But now request another RM48mil for extension of the existing jetty and upgrading of the ship unloader to allow larger ship to come in. My question is: How much saving for allowing Kamsarmax vessel of 84,000 deadweight tonnage to facilitate the unloading? How long is the breakeven from the saving?

I would like to add on another example: Why you buy Unit Fund? Because you are confident you can make money in the bull market but not sure in the bear market. Therefore you pay Fund manager to manage your hard earn money so that you still can make profit and not loss your money in bear market and through inflation (Inflation is the monster always used by Unit Trust sales personnel to scare clients). As such, will you buy a Unit trust that they wont guarantee return because they believe bear is coming but don't know when? And the fund past 5 years records is lower than FD? Food for thinking...

<<If you are a boss of a company , you surely will not agree with your sales manager telling you that better don't sell company's products now, market is going to be bad, lets' stop selling or else, you may find collection problems later on.
If you are boss, will you fire him or wait for your time to close shop? Bear in mind their salary you continue paying....>>

If TTB believes these counters not yet reach its bottom, why keep it? dumb it now and buy back at its low.
So what is the philosophy of TTB?
