Last post here is on 5/4/2014. Happy that I'm still holding this share. Dipped below my average price in the past 1 year but has certainly bounced back now. Looking for good times ahead!

Well, if the news is true, that Tan Sri QLC becoming a strategic shareholder, then I foresee the opening price to be at least 1.70, if not 1.75-1.80. Very conservative target.

Queuing to buy at 2.20 after selling at 2.50. Interestingly, I actually swap to Mahsing, but still neutral on that. Regardless of how Mahsing is, I will swap back to AirAsia if it hits 2.20.

It's up 20% from my purchase price and even at current price, it still has a very attractive dividend yield rate.

Cash in my profit from previous entry of 1.28. Should have cash out last week when it was doing mid 1.40's. Targeting re-entry if it dips below 1.30.

In my odd 7 years of share trading, this certainly has to be the most stable counter, in terms of dividend yield and also growth.

It's such a good cash cow. Up trend coz of the reason positive 3rd quarter results. Dividend yield currently stands at 8%+. Where to get such a good stock? Best in KLSE so far.

Yeah, that is a good question that intruges me as well. Dividend per share is higher than EPS. How is it possible? It means they have been continuosly bleeding for the past few years? And given the fact that it has so good dividend payout, why aren't they covered by any of the investment houses? Well, heck with those questions, I have YILAI in my portfolio and am damn happy with the returns!!!

100% within 4 and a half years doesn't need correction?
Well, yes, if we have really made a 100% progress in the past 4 years. Look at the average Malaysian or the average corporation out there. I simply look at the mirror and ask myself, are things really that good? Is the Malaysian spending power really increasing or people are buying into property because they are afraid that they won't be able to afford it a few years down the road? Worse is, how many % of it is held by foreigners? If the start to exit the local market and cash out, just like how they are cashing out in the securities market, then it's really water fall soon.

Fingers crossed, we can support the economy and there's still a lot of hidden purchasing power.

@winwin

Market capitalization as of today's closing is roughly RM1,430 billion. So, theoretically speaking, if RM70bil flows out, that should be roughly 5% of the current market cap. That should roughly translate to about 90 points on our index. So maybe it will stop at 1,650? I'm assuming the outflow began at the 1,750 level.

Again, it's a very mathematical model. Loads of other factors, such as the herd mentality, emotional behaviours, stop loss being triggered and politics.

"normally ,market will move up n down, if u think it is good stock, hold on to it n will be get profit later. KLCI still above 1700, n 1997 crisis KLCl below 300 point."

The very fact that it is above 1700, that is the damn worrying point. It is ultra high. FYI, the main economies within the region (South East Asia), all are down, YTD.
STI (Singapore) = -1.57%
SET(Thailand) = -4.57%
JCI (Indones9a) = -6.37%
KLCI(Malaysia) = +2.82%

Even greater Asia powerhouse economies are also down YTD
SSE (China) = -4.69%
HSI (Hong Kong) = -0.71%

The only exception is Japan, which is up 31.51% YTD. But they too, have corrected more than 10% from the highest point in May 2013.

Anyone want to bet that Malaysia will be negative YTD soon?

"klci may drop to 1620"
That's rather optimistic, I'm actually expecting worse than this.
Market has shoot up 100% in 4 and a half years, since Feb 2009, which was at a low of 900+.
I think the dive won't be so steep this time around, not a drop off the cliff, but a gradual drop in stages. Still will go quite low nonetheless.

I think many of us are confident that LBS has great underlying fundamentals. But regardless of how strong it is, if the market in general dips, including the West and also greater Asia, then that will cause a domino effect and more likely than not, LBS will also be plunging down.

Thus, the question, assuming it is clear that the market is heading down in the near future, why jump in now even though one knows the fundamental is good?

Nett result: will incur losses

I think the most important lesson for the day is that for everything you read online, especially blogs and forums, take it with a big table spoon of salt!!

This doesn't just refer to comments by yanyana, but everyone else, including myself...LOL

Anyway, market is expected to correct even further. FYI, we are back to the level b4 elections.
I think we'll head further down south.

I've exited all my positions last Thursday when the market collapsed, all broke my exit points. Took decent profit on LBS @ 1.75

Now, I wonder where is that bugger yanyana. Must be hidding now.

It's just hilarious to read all the comments regarding the big volume being parked at a certain price and that its a hot counter.

Today's volume is pathetic, only 30k lots, as compared to the volume of 100k lots a week back.
I assume someone is caught in this stock at a high price, and is beginning to panic since the price is starting to correct now. Thus, trying to convince others to jump to bring it back up?

Good luck

When it rains, everything gets wet. Regardless of how well a company is, fundamentally or technically, if Dow Jones retreats, and institutional investors from the States pull out from the local Asean market, everything will collapse.

The news regarding the disposal of shares is by on of the non-executive directors children. Furthermore, that director is not a major shareholder and not related to the Lim family, so I'm not too worried on the news.

It is interesting to note that while many research houses have valued LBS at a certain high price, they themselves haven't placed any Target Price/recommendation on the share. Maybe there are too many unknown factors to it, or maybe because it has been troubled for the past 10 years, that analysts are unsure of what is to be expected.

FYI, it hasn't appreciated much since its IPO 10 years ago.

Well, dividend pay out actually will affect the warrant. If the dividend pay out is massive, the mother share will adjust accordingly, and that means, warrant price will go down too.

@apprentice

Just curious, because you got almost everything rite bout ESOS, except the part that it is '15% above market price' or '12 to 15% above 5 day market average'.

I handle ESOS allocation for corporate clients and assist in executing them when it can be vested. ESOS is ALWAYS based on the market average at that point in time, be in 5 day average, 10 day average or even 30 day average, but NEVER at an additional premium higher than the market price.

Just want to share my experience and knowledge, no offence. Cheers.

Totally agree that we must have a plan when trading. For some, they adopt exit point strategies and cap their gains and losses. 20% gain or 10% loss maybe?

Anyway, it's always good to have a healthy discussion and views from both side.
Cheers and happy trading to you too, all the best.

@Kutty123
This stock has good fundamentals, no doubt about that. It's just that the image the founder is carrying doesn't really encourage the growth of the company (in Malaysia's context) and historically, it has been struggling too, relative to its competitors in this sector (KOSSAN, HARTALEGA). It has however managed to break the 2.25 line in which it has failed in the past 4 attempts.

I did highlight in my previous post that the contributions from the Telecommunications arm is low compared to their power generation sector. Thus, rather insignificant.

@miketyu
Telco is a tough business, and market is very saturated in Malaysia. An interesting fact, the penetration rate in Malaysia for mobile phones is 130%+ as of May 2013. This means, for every 100 people out there in the street, they cumulatively own 130 phones.
Look at all the top 3 telcos in Malaysia, facing challenging times. Digi's growth Year on Year has been flat, 0% change while Maxis is undergoing major reorganization structure as reported in newspapers due to decreasing profits in the past few years.

YTLPOWR's best bet for increased performance should come from their energy power generation sector.

When it rains, everything gets wet, nothing is spared. A lot of companies had strong fundamentals, when the 2009 crash came, and yet, they dipped down like no tomorrow. If retail investors sell and make a move, small tiny investors like us will all die standing.

Genting was trading at MYR3+, AXIATA at MYR2+, and PBBANK at MYR7+. Dropped of a cliff.

Fact.

Looking at the 5 year chart for MAHSING, this stock has a very good uptrend graph, with the exception of Jan-Sep 2011, where it went up before dipping back heavily. The spike in May is very similar to the spike up in Jan 2011, in terms of pattern and the increase in volume. Hope it doesn't dip like the Sep 2011 dip. If yes, that means going back to 2.00+-
