Sharing my experience, 1) if u invest 1m in one share in full 5 years, every year give u get 15% return, after compounded returns will be 1.15m, 1.3225m, 1.52m, 1.75m, 2.01m, 2) if you put your money in saving ac for interest of 3% for first half years, then Later, u invest 2rd half of the year, and get 25% return, you will get, 1.14m(1mx1.015x1.125), 1.3, 1.488, 1.7, 1.94m. minus in out 5time fees, more or less u must have about 27% return for 2rd half to get 2.01m. Or we can say even your can increase profitability by 80%,(become 80% more intelligent) from 15%to 27%return, u only get the same return the stupid person get. if 2017/18 crisis come as usual, (end7), then how? I tell him 2 thing, 1) dont over bought, left a 30-40% cash, 2) for normal crisis, blue chip for consumers leisure sector, non cycling sector, share usually get back within 18months, but for sen share it will never get back what u want in your life most of the time. So tell youself worse come to worse, 2year fixed deposits interest bye bye, is not 20 years , no big deal.
2) basesd on your estimation, ,genting will make so much and so much, are you sure genting will make money or will so much? wont lost money?
My answers to him is, yes, genting Malaysia and sing, and plantation ( looking at reports )for daily operations , it always make money on year based, excluding exceptions item, corp exercise, and other investment. And 95% of time power business is make money,(before 1mdb bought over power businesses from genting)(now 70% of capacity still awaiting for harvesting), so, in my view is almost 99% of time genting operations will make money, for concern will make so much? Just the matter of time. Cash flow for genting is just too strong to fight even 20 years crisis come, avoid cycling secter like banking, property, tech and market cap less then 10b.

Too many people are looking for short time investment, don't influence too much by short term sentiments, we are no the god, we dont know what issue market talking about in next min, buy and hold. never the less, Now market is very bearish, in short term, GT is right, if current trend continues, GT advises is useful sometimes, crisis is damn pain. but for longer run, hng33 is always right, but must be a bit patience, dont care too much about short term up and down, i have been facing more than a millions is paper loss, i still enjoy the show,
