And will Bullbear lose to me after 18 weeks? The answer is big yes
Let me teach you one final thing since you have short memories
1. Market won't go up all the time and vice versa.
2. Fund manager will make their account looks good before year-end. And they will buy "big" name stock only. Unfortunately for you, AirAsia is one of them
3. Q4 is peak period. Have you forgotten about this? Christmas, New Year & CNY
4. And finally 15.7% increment in Q4. You definitely have no idea on this since you're armchair critic

Alex Chan & Davors, you need to read previous comment by Haikeyila about share buyback. It's a good exercise.
But if Hapseng going for bonus issue again, I'm 100% for it
2013-09-12 11:17 | Report Abuse
ktsk88, i don't know what u did with ur Hapseng stock.
It's bonus issue in 2011. Ratio is 2:1. It means you get 2000 unit FOC for each 1000 unit. This mean you hold 3000 unit. The dividend yield is good. Your dividend amount is 3X more.
Total dividend payable after bonus issue until is 0.27.

15.7% increment.
Bullbear has no idea
2013-09-10 16:23 | Report Abuse
Bullbear, I will explain some numbers in technical analysis to you.
I'm lousy in this area and can be extremely wrong.
http://klse.i3investor.com/servlets/stk/fin/5099.jsp
If you look at profit column, you can notice TTM is 3rd best in history. There are another 4 months and 4Q is peak period.
P/E is 10.62. It means I'm willing to pay RM10.62 for RM1.00 of current earnings. If you don't get it, I explain in layman's terms. I expect their earnings to grow 10.62% yearly.
Dividend yield. This mean I received some cash from AA for holding it. It's 7% YTD. Please remember that buying price will affect your yield.
There's more to technical analysis but that's all I know. I can be bias.
A lots of people already talk about fundamentals, no point going there and repeat it.
2013-09-10 15:52 | Report Abuse
This my opinion.
Technical Analysis.
http://klse.i3investor.com/servlets/stk/fin/5041.jsp
Fundamental Analysis
Water is an utility business monopolised by state government. This is economic moat.
Industrial and residential area consumption.
Events organised by state to attract tourists. PIBM going to be hold on November.
Fundamental is better than technical. Thus, PBA is a buy & hold stock.
I don't know TP price.

haikeyila, please check your comment again.
Hapseng's price never increase close to 200% in the last five years.
In mid 2011, Hapseng is worth RM7++. After bonus issue, the price readjusted to RM2++ and drop until RM1++ due to euro crisis.
For everyone info, Hapseng is co-owner of Menara Citibank.
Once I figured out their plantation business, I will post it here.
Again, Hapseng is for long-term based on current fundamentals.

You've answered most of your own questions.
High fuel price, weak currency, interest hikes, selldown = disaster
disaster for all airlines, including malindo, firefly.
this means "survival of the fittest".
when the weak eliminated, only the strong left. based on current situation, AA is likely to win.
do you know there will be 15.7% guarantee increment in revenue for 4th quarter? AA only. you won't get the answer from internet.
don't be armchair critics. did you go to matta fair on last weekend and talk to travel agency. when i said do your homework, it means really go out and see it.

limnagalim, are you buying a stock and expect it to go bankrupt?
don't think it this way. you want to make money
2013-09-09 16:56 | Report Abuse
Bullbear, you have much to learn in business and more specific, in sales.
I'm sure you're not working in sales line. Thus, you didn't see from other perspectives.
No demand = No sales
The only way for this to happen is all of us stop traveling. If not, a company need to cater for this demand.
AirAsia is in better situation than any airline to fulfill the demand.
Malindo still far from it, either routes and frequency.
And one more thing, ancillary revenue will play a key role in low-cost airline sales. Do you what is ancillary revenue?
2013-09-09 16:48 | Report Abuse
limnagalim, I agree with you on your ROE concept.
Cheetah is family owned business. So there won't be much unexpected surprises.
Again, buy & hold for cheetah unless there are changes in business direction, which isn't happening at the moment
2013-09-09 16:40 | Report Abuse
limnagalim, you've already answered your question.
Amway is market leader but Cheetah isn't.
I can share this with you. Market leader for apparel in consignment sales isn't listed in KLSE yet.
It's jordone corporation sdn bhd. Why I know so much? I worked in this industry before.
Like I mentioned in your previous thread, Cheetah is a buy & hold stock. I don't expect capital to appreciate much
2013-09-09 16:33 | Report Abuse
It seems that everyone forget that AA is a cyclical business. You must hold the stock. 4th Quarter is peak period
Demand for low cost travel is always here. Competitors isn't strong at the moment.
These two factors will guarantee AA position as market leader.

tan kw, thanks.
these apparel business isn't my cup of tea too. there are many too many brands in the market. weak brand identity and positioning
2013-09-09 16:13 | Report Abuse
tan kw, padini is better because it's shop based business.
cheetah is consignment based business.
direct competitors to cheetah are tgl and voir. all these three focus more on consignment

Re-branding exercise from Lacoste. To change people perception of old brand to young brand

Ok, for the final part of limnagalim's trilogy
Based on current situation,
Is Cheetah a good stock?
Yes, if you are going to hold for long time and received dividend. I don't the know dividend yield, so I assume you get back all your investing capital within 10 years.
No, if you are looking for capital growth and don't have time to buy and hold.
End
2013-09-09 14:56 | Report Abuse
There are pros and cons for each model but i give this a skip. You can google search yourself.
That's why Cheetah has small liability and the ability grow their business is small. The way to grow is to follow Padini's business concept.
As Cheetah has been offering cheap clothes, they will have trouble in shop based business. Why?
Our perception on Cheetah as cheap clothes. To change this perception, Cheetah must invest heavily into branding and change our perception. This depends on management.
Best Case Study is Lacoste. Lacoste was formerly known as Crocodile.
2nd break.....
2013-09-09 14:49 | Report Abuse
I start with limnagalim.
You probably not familiar with retail sales. Cheetah's business model is based on consignment sales. The counter you see inside supermarket or departmental stores is consignment-based-counter. There is profit sharing between Cheetah & retailers for each sales. This is called trading agreement. There is no rental fee paid by Cheetah to retailer.
Cheetah has their own boutique shop, i.e in Mines. There is no profit sharing as all sales belongs to Cheetah. Cheetah needs to pay rental for the shop.
Cheetah is strong in consignment not on boutique shop. Profit margin is higher for boutique shop and costs too.
If you looking for boutique shop based business, then it's Padini.
Wait, let me take a breath..

2013-09-06 15:58 | Report Abuse
for everyone info, hapseng has committed to pay out minimum 50% of its profit as dividend since 2011.
hapseng is a dividend powerhouse. if you reinvest your dividend, your average buying cost will be lower
avoid this stock if you're day trader or short term player
