Investors should learn from past lessons not to chase hot stocks that had risen sharply like data centre related stocks. How many times retail investors must suffer losses by chasing business they do not understand and often diregarding valuations of the stocks?
Then when such stocks fell, they forgot why the stocks were bought and panic and fear caused them to sell at a losses. Multiply this scenerio several times and investors would have lost substiantial part of their capital... therefore be aware of what you are doing in the stock market. Be a value investor and not a flighty speculators in order to win in the game of investing. The truth is that investors mindsets and themselves are the keys to success or failures.

Now is a good opportunity to invest in Lay Hong as it has strong support at 0.385. Those already invested and still have capital might want to buy more as the more the merrier when Lay Hong's stock in due time climbs up again.

I saw Mydin boss saying its not usefull to provide subsidy for eggs producers as they are doing well. He stated his opinion that lowering the price of an egg by 3 sen is not helpful since there is a shortage of eggs. He said he ordered so much eggs and were supplied with only a portion of his orders.
Mydin boss did not realise this is where the effect of the 7 sen (10 sen - 3 sen) extra margin for eggs producers kicks in.
For capitalism or free enterprise works better when there is sufficient incentive. Eggs companies on seeing 7 extra sen profits will do their best to boost eggs production that will overcome the problem of eggs shortages. Eggs being the cheapest protein which are consumed by all races and is therefore a fundamental staple food.
Thus gomen 10 sen subsidy for eggs not only will keep prices of eggs under control but will motivates eggs producers to ramp up their productions so as to fill the needs of market.

Anyway, saw an article in Nanyang with the title stating that the outlook is bright for eggs producing listed companies. Hope other media will come forward to dispell the insipid idea that the sky is falling down on eggs producing companies following mandatory reduction of each egg price down 3 sen. They still gain 7 sen after marking down 3 sen for each egg. Hope other newspapers especially The Edge will do a write up to educate the investing public.

Thanks for your input, Multiever.
Perhaps speculators were spooked by the 3 sen reduction in each egg without realising the bonanza of 10 sen subsidy for each egg. The media will have to explain the ramifications for eggs companies to retail investors so they will become steady pom pipi as to taking desperate actions instinctively. As I see it, Lay Hong is an investment grade listed company with bright future prospects; and its PER is only 3+ only. Surely most if not all stock participants understand that low single digit PER is mostly a metric that spells VALUE? As it is, now is the opportune time for value investor with fundamental mindset to put their capital to good use, which is to invest in Lay Hong when its stock price had fallen to attractive level. Remember that Lay Hong's stocks are selling at cheap PER, its also a well run enterprise that had in two consercutive earned praise worthy profits. What more can value investors want?

Anyone can clarify the negative response of Lay Hong's stock price towards gomen announcement of reduction by 3 sen per egg immediately which was mitigated by the giving of gomen subsidy of 10 sen per egg? I believe many investors in Lay Hong thought the subsidy is a gift that will give rise to higher stock price but it had instead caused the opposite effect.

drken91,
Gaduh tak baik walaupun bukan semasa bulan puasa.
Investing in stocks requires independence of thoughts and not be undully influenced by unstable emotions. Invest after checking at sufficient good reasons for putting in capital. Buffett said there are two rules for investing.
1. Never lose your capital.
2. Refer to rule No.1
I think your cost-average investment of buying 1 lot each month is a good idea. Much better than putting into fixed deposit.

A cash rich company is a positive factor in the company's favour. It is certainly better to be cash rich than another company that is burden with large debts; which in a worst case scenerio may cause bankruptcy when it is no longer able to service debts and interests.

Good morning,
Investors need to have mindset of investing in companies for longer durations than just weeks or months. And if they did not chase high price stocks such as those with high PER, they will not become worried and frustrated even if stock prices fall. To treat stock investing as a short term trade or gamble can often bring about negative consequences.

A good deal of investing is in understanding the influences of psychology on speculators/investors. Greed, fear and panicking are the banes of speculators. It takes experiences, EQ and good judgements to buy the right companies at reasonable or low prices. Need to hone our mentalities well before venturing into stock arenas to avoid unnecessary losses.

Hi moneyontheway,
Thanks for your welcome.
TSH is on my watch list before strumbling upon Calvin's sharing.
I noticed insider director bought in when its share prices fell some time ago.
I like old school business which is easier to understand. I have yet to invest in TSH although I might in future.
Thank you DJThong for your cautionary remarks. As I mentioned, I will read and try to filtered out useful or useless info and hold myself accountable for my investing decisions. There is after all, an ancient piece of advice from days of Roman Empire, which is "Buyers beware". After all in the end, its our own personal capital at stakes.
I agreed with Calvin's idea that it is a good idea to be a contrarian when it comes to stock investing.
