Why there is private wing at government hospitals? This is part of the incentive offers by the government to retain talents in government services.

Personally seeing economic recession around the corner! Not many RAKYAT could afford the expensive cost at the private hospitals. That’s why you could see many patients queueing up at government hospitals or clinics. These are not uncommon scenarios resulting the appointments for elective surgeries as long as three to six months time.

Recent fact findings at few government hospitals revealing up to 30% of government patients willing to pay the extra charges in order to get the surgery done instantly at private wing of government hospitals! This extra charges are at way affordable price compared to private hospitals. Of course, these patients enjoy the benefits of choosing the most senior consultant or specialist to perform the surgeries for them. Not to forget the ICU backup is way better than private hospitals.
