Berkshire shares jump as Buffett says buybacks are an option

•Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway has $116 billion in cash but is having trouble finding opportunities in a pricier market.
•Buffett told CNBC in an interview Monday that at some point he could consider returning cash to shareholders in the form of buybacks.
•However, he said the company is unlikely ever to consider implementing a dividend, which he called an "implied promise that you keep paying them forever."

Berkshire Hathaway maintains an aggressive stock buyback policy that puts cash directly into shareholders' pockets.

because its chairman and CEO, Warren Buffett, believes it is more beneficial to allocate the company's earnings in other ways. Buffett, like many business leaders, feels that investing back into his business provides more long-term value to shareholders than paying them directly because the company's financial success rewards shareholders with higher stock values.

1. The refiner has seen margins picking up in May, suggesting that there is support for the crack spread going forward, said its chief commercial officer William Chen Jung Huei. This is backed by rising global demand for refined products as end users stock up amid rising oil prices, he said.

“Our margins are sustainable but they may not be as good as last year,” Chen told reporters today, following the group’s annual general meeting today.

2. Chief financial officer Foo Ai Li added that there would be no disruption of its delivery to customers during the group’s scheduled mandatory turnaround in the third quarter of this year.

Hopefully, it can be turned around. It probably will deliver a fair return on its investments given the right business conditions but do not expect it to be a great business.

On the other hand, a hydroskimmer plant would only be able to produce high value products like gasoline and LPG only.


Consequently, Shell's motor gasoline production will double to more than 150,000 tonnes per month with a value of over US$14 million (US$1=RM3.80) a month

If they are not trustable. Why Shell sell the PD plant to HY? They must have a good working relationship with Shell.

3iii, Xingquan is only a small company. HY is a big plant. How can you compare HY with Xingquan?. The plant can't be moved out easily. Don't afraid of the Chinese people and also don't always have negative perception towards the Chinese people. If you are afraid, why you are here in this forum? They are not con men.
