These nekosaan or whatever it is, actually promoting heavy buying at the moment because they want to release their fund and take profit. They will buy 1-2 million units to show support for the market and lure public to buy and then sell heavily at 5-6 million units at current price. They can't sell all their holdings one shot as it will cause the counter to crash back to 0.3. So for short term players, it will do you no good. But if you are long term holders, you will definitely reap the profit as these punters will come back again next month to push up the price. Until then, I don't expect any significant uprise in price.

From my observation, i think the recent run in 2nd leg will temporarily pause (maybe a week or 2) or face slight sideway trading with downward bias until all profit taking done for mother.. Meanwhile, i think not much downward movement for WA coz compare to 1st leg, WA leads the way in up run thus severely affected in correction, from 0.195 to 0.12 (lowest point) while not much movement in mother.. This time, aax moves in tandem or rather a bit behind mother, wa premium should be adjusted higher..

Fortunebulz, the DCA fee revision will still hit AAX. Just that the impact will be minimal compared to AirAsia, MAS and Malindo Air. This is because AAX operates long haul flights which generally has a much lower average operating cost per nautical miles travelled.

Having said that, AirAsia, MAS and Malindo Air which operate significant domestic and short regional flights, and have a much higher average operating cost will per nautical miles travelled will be hardly hit.

If you take notice of the announcement as published in The Star, it was mentioned that:-

"the worst hit by this new charges would be airlines like AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines and Malindo Air that have several hundred domestic flights per week."

AirAsia X is not mentioned as the worst hit which means some consolation for them.

Besides that, Malindo Air which was previously quoted by CIMB research in their 0.15 target price report, as the airline to provide fierce competition to AirAsia X in 2H16 should be unable to provide real competition in ticket pricing due to their full service structure with this substantial additional cost. Sayonara Malindo Air !

So being a well-established and efficient cost management company under the effective leadership of Benyamin Ismail since 2015, AirAsia X will only stand up much better against the rest such as Malindo Air and MAS for long haul flights !

Radzi : Yeah, even if I bought at much lower price before the release of previous quarter's result, I still feel for them. Indeed WA is much riskier and it was pushed too high a premium previously. When the mother stopped moving and traded sideways, couldn't help but seeing WA gradually adjusted to a much lower premium.

Hopefully things will get much better very soon so that they can have some better nights ahead ! If they are still suffering from insomnia by then, perhaps it's because they are contemplating of not buying more at lower price ! Haha !

Yes Radzi, as the same goes to the others here, I too believe that the true potential of AAX has not even been unleashed and the recently concluded quarter might show a glimpse of it when its quarterly operating performance and financial result is released to public this coming May.

But haven't you forgotten what happened between 7 March 2016 and 1 April 2016? No matter how big is the potential, the big boys simply won't hold it throughout the whole quarter, let alone the whole financial year (apart from institutions). So that is the time when heavy profit taking takes place and panic selling created and everyone runs for their life (maybe except u and me and jjchan). Left to ikan bilis to hold the shares for few weeks or maybe a month or two while they place their investment elsewhere and reenter later at a lower price to maximise the profit. Imagine those who purchased AAX-WA at peak of 0.19.. countless of sleepless nights...

But i believe from now until after the next quarter result is released (somehow till early June), it will be a bigger upside compared to previous month, 0.42 is a fair price. For the long run, it very much depends on what happens or rather continues to happen in the future (appreciation of RM, increase of load factor, increase of new profitable routes launch, etc.)

Thinking too much into the future left the present went unappreciated (though TP 1.50 always keep myself with a cheeky grin) XDXD .. Till then, cheers to all !

Cimb research now sit there silently and most probably will release a revised much higher tp after next quarter result to let people chase high ! Anything less than 0.1 gain in aax (30%) is not meaningful / worthy at all for the big boys after so much work done at backstage (blocking, revised low tp, dumping to create panic selling, etc.) in the past month

Actually good for them to have gradual profit taking to avoid panic selling at peak.. Let them buy high and chase high.. Hahaha
