So, I just went through the numbers for EPF transactions relating to "SKPETRO"

Assume a margin of error of 5%

- In the Period between 19/5/2015 and 29/3/2016 the fund's acquisitions were approximately 258 million shares.

- In the Period between 19/5/2015 and 29/3/2016 the fund's dispositions were approximately 241 million shares

it follows then, that for that period, the fund's net position change = 258 million (Bought) - 241 million (Sold) = a 'Net change amount of " +17 million shares added for the period.

Now, to establish the funds current holdings, using available data from March 24th - (whatever amount the fund sold since then) = 849 million shares - 9 million = 840 million shares.

In summery, over the last 45 week period , the fund bought 17 million shares.
The funds current holdings are 840 million shares or roughly 14.2% of all shares outstanding.

Last round of acquisition for EPF was around the beginning of January when the price was around 1.6x...... nothing wrong with taking profit even at 1.8x --------------- If you have time, look at the statistics for market participation over the last 4-5 months. You will see that when KLCI was going down, major institutions acted like a sponge and absorbed massive amounts of selling by foreign and retail participants.However, for the last 3-4 weeks, institutions have been net sellers and foreign and retail participants were net buyers. And not by small amounts either, on average, institutions have been net sellers by about RM300 million daily.
