You will continue to suffer if you have an emotional reaction to everything that is said to you. True power is sitting back and observing things with logic. True power is restraint. If words control you that means everyone else can control you.

@Sslee, thanks so much for this comment! it is so true!
I have written this on a post-it note and pasted on my wall to remind me everyday..hope to be a better person and being less emotional to every single thing that happened around.. be it boss comments, investment decision made, etc..

hi Mabel.. what is your view on serba statutory audit matter?
will you still hold the counter?
what should investor do when they see this kind of negative news?
Thursday will see panic sell .. should i exit first and come back later?

Any experienced investor who are familiar with Serba mind to share some insight.. much appreciated..

RJ87 mentioned that "Those that came up with cooking the book theory will look like a fool. More elaborate you tell that story, the bigger fool you look like. And those sold at RM1.20 will be bigger fool when they see the price bounce to RM2.4. =D"

is RJ87 an investor of serba?

All analyst are giving target price of above RM2 for Serba..

hi Mabel.. are you still holding Greatech shares? I remember seeing your comments that you invested in this company since long ago.. do you mind sharing your view on the impact of recent Lordstown news on Greatech performance? I am still new to investing world.. should I be worried as an investor? or it is just market noises?

Noticed that the directors have been acquiring the shares.. meaning we dont have to worry too much?

Mabel.. i wanna seek your guidance.. when dayang dropped to 70 - 80 cents during early November.. did you take the opportunity to average down..

I admitted that i panic sell when i saw dayang dropped to 90 cents earlier, and seeing its weak Q2 results, plus the recent accident that happened .. and the overall O&G market sentiment seems weak.. =(

What should an investor do when he/she sees the share price keeps dropping.. take the chance to average down instead of panic sell? How did you learn to manage your emotions well in investing? by having faith in the Company's performance?

terence, wanna ask your opinion - how do we know the right price to average down? by looking at TA? like fibonacci retracement?

What do you think of applying dolar cost averaging principle into good shares, can we consistently buy into shares regardless of the price? like treating it as a unit trust & long term investment.. or it is not suitable to apply such principle on share market?

I am thinking to go into GCB.. the price seems attractive now..

maxpowar is right.. Tguan rebounded.. same like my frontken.. we need to advocate the principle of buying into a fraction of company's business instead of treating it as a lottery ticket!

Imagine if bought tguan at 2.9 and panic sell when seeing it drop to 2.6.. will surely regret..

@Maxpowar, tq for the analysis on MFCB. Could you share more tips on the key factors to look for in FS to know whether it is financial healthy company? how to identify the anomalies?

@UndukNgadau, could you share the reasons for buying when Tguan volume taper to 500k daily shares? mean the selling pressure is diminishing and therefore is a good entry?

@maxpowar.. yea.. i know Tguan is a solid company.. i will hold tight with all the fundamentally solid companies..

I am quite keen on TGuan.. good FA company.. but nowadays i feel abit lost on the share price movement & the Company's QR.. like Tguan, i noticed Frontken also reported 2 consecutive good QR results but share price falling.. Tguan reported good QR but share price falling..

KESM didnt report any impressive results.. but the share price goes up..
can someone decipher this for me =( is it like what maxpowar mentioned earlier.. these are just short term movement.. and over the long term, share price and company value will align..

terence & cheekaan, may i ask your advice, if someone bought a good share at one price, maybe RM2.. but the share starts to turn downtrend.. and drop by 50%.. do you advise to exit first and enter again when it shows uptrend again.. or just hold and wait for the company value to realise..

For fundamental shares, do you analyse the TA as well? like whether it is showing any bearish pattern such double top triple top .. lower high.. etc.. or we actually do not need to care, just buy and forget..

Stock

2020-11-25 17:25 | Report Abuse

@chengcheekan, i actually look for long term investment.. however my friend advised that the market is too volatile now.. not suitable for long term.. it is better to hit and run now.. does that mean if price broke below support we should cut loss? even it is a good fundamental company? it is quite disheartening to see that after cut loss.. the share price goes up again..

@terence, @maxpowar, seems like both of you have the similar investing principle/mindset.. how long does it take to implant this kind of mindset? like what terence said .. share price is least of concern and company growth and profit more important.. but as human being, we tend to be emotionally affected when we see our investment in red.. and choose to sell in red to have peace of mind..

some said that real money is made over long term.. and those are boring money..

Thank you for your insight full sharing!

#I disagree with your statement, because you are thinking that you can time the market. Buying at 2.7 is better than 2.8 or 2.9. Of course. But who will know if it would drop to 2.7? What if you buy now at 2.7 but it drops to 2.6 next week? Or what if you didn't buy at 2.8, then it rebounds to 3?

Don't try to time the market, no point#

#If a small correction(or whatever the cause behind of share price drop) freaks you out (looking at you night_shadow),then don’t dip your feet the stock market really.#

i am still trying to learn how to approach the market.. i admit that it does freak me out when i bought one share at 3.5, and see it keeps dropping until 3.1, I keep worrying that if there is something wrong with the company's fundamental.. and there are negative comments on the forum.. but i tell myself to keep it and believe in the company's growth..

What is the proper way of investing? if it is a good company, do we take chance to average down when there is selldown? we should not follow to panic sell when people selling? like there could be another sell down if the Budget is rejected tomorrow..

Thanks Mabel..
I noticed you have holdings in a lot of different counters and your holdings are diversified..
i want to be like you and learn to think like an investor..
I guess you will not be looking at the price movement for all your holdings and be emotionally affected by it right? You will just wait for the market to do the work and you reap the rewards when it is time..
I have to admit that i am not emotionally well prepared before entering into the market..
So need to learn from experienced investor like you..
I am trying to learn to understand how market works.. price always fluctuates and we should not be too stressed by it everyday..

Mabel.. may i ask you.. i noticed that Dayang stopped paying dividend since 2015..
I understand that tech companies usually do not pay dividend as they need to retain the fund for capital spending..is it the similar case for O&G industry?
when we invest, is either we look for capital appreciation or dividend yield.. for Dayang..should we be patient and wait for the capital appreciation? since we do not expect dividend..

Hi Mabel.. i am abit puzzled here.. is it the trend now that the share price no longer moves in tandem with the company fundamental?

For example, Naim share price climb notwithstanding the weak quarter result.. where as Dayang has been moving in sideway despite its profitable 1st quarter (which is above expectation since it used to report losses in 1st Q in the past)

Maybe you can share more based on your experience in the market?

Dayang seems to be very slow in climbing.. the management seems like not as strong as Serba.. =( we saw Serba, Uzma managed to secure new contract.. but very quiet with Dayang.. hopefully they are not going to just rely on the existing 4b order book..

There is another O&G counter going to list on ACE market on 22 July..heard from the news that this IPO company will be focusing on downstream..mean another competitor for Dayang..

Mabel.. really admire your calmness and experience in the share market.. i saw the similarity between you and one of my friend.. both of you
- never fear the market drop if it is due to the external factor;
- not checking the share price every now and then;
- just patiently wait for the investment to realise value in long term with the prerequisite that it is a fundamentally strong company..
and I am the opposite of both of you and panicking everyday since March.. really really need to get rid of this negative and over worrying thoughts..

Would like to ask your experience.. lets say if we bought Dayang at 1.5 previously.. and never seen the price increase afterwards.. we should not be panic and quickly sell it if we believe it its long term value?

How will you handle the emotion when the share price keep dropping after you went it? I think alot of the small investors get trapped when they buy, the price fall and when they sell, the price goes up again..

How long have you been in the share market?
I just started in October last year.. maybe is beginner luck.. most of the shares invested were at paper gain before pandemic started. And then come at the panic selling.. and got worried looking at the paper loss getting bigger and bigger everyday..regret that i should have sold it before..(only on hindsight).. and then see some slowly recovering.. and noticed that Dayang become the slowest to recover among the portfolio.. Still.. i believe in its strong fundamental and should not give up/cut loss too fast..

Did you start investing in Dayang recently or you have invested in it many years ago?
I didnt have the chance to attend Dayang AGM.. if you attended before, is the management team as strong as Serba's?

Powerwell Holdings Bhd
Improving outlook

We remain positive on Powerwell Holdings Bhd’s (“Powerwell”)
earnings visibility given its solid orderbook and healthy
balance sheet with net cash position. We expect demand for
Powerwell’s electricity distribution products to pick up along
with construction activities especially from the imminent
revival of mega infrastructure projects. Recommend BUY with
target price of RM0.33 based on 13.7x PER FY21 as per the Bursa
Malaysia Industrial Production Index.

Backed by a solid track record of over 25 years, Powerwell is
principally involved in the design, manufacturing and trading of
electricity distribution products, predominantly low voltage (“LV”)
switchboards and medium voltage (“MV”) switchgears. Products
are mainly supplied to main contractors, mechanical and
electrical contractors, and EPCC companies across various
industries. Powerwell’s near term earnings visibility is well
supported by an orderbook of RM67m. We expect job flows to
enhance due to potential roll out of infrastructure projects as the
electricity distribution industry is highly correlated with
construction activities.

Powerwell is the only local company authorised by Siemens, a
German conglomerate to manufacture and sell LV switchboards
and MV switchgears in Malaysia as well as an authorised
switchboards manufacturer and seller of world’s leading
electrical equipment brand, Schneider in Malaysia. More than
80% of revenue is contributed by local market while its
internationally certified products further strengthen their
presence in regional markets such as Indonesia and Vietnam.

To recap, Powerwell which made its debut on ACE Market in Jan
this year plans to develop its own ““Powerwell” branded MV
switchgear where preparation has started in May 2018. Moving
forward, more products are also set to be IEC standards certified
to increase product marketability.

Powerwell’s balance sheet is healthy sitting on net cash of
RM10.4m with gearing ratio of 0.10x. Net profit is expected to
register double-digit growth of over 20% over the next 2 years
supported by solid orderbook and anticipation of higher job
orders.
