Getting interested again after a long time. Gold price again inching up. This is the only gold mining company on KLSE.

What is surprising is how come they had inventory loss this Qrtr when their raw material as well as product prices went up. Any explanation?

How does one know what will be the derivative gain / loss next qtr. Do we know the current derivative exposure and at what future price. ? They seem to have their hand full in derivatives. Derivatives over long term only ends up paying fees and other expenses. gains / loss should cancel each other over long period.

I think the only risk now is that of the Repsol deal not going through for some reason or the other. If Oil price keeps going up , Repsol itself may try to wriggle out using some excuse. Not sure whether is binding for both there parties. Not sure what conditional SPA means.

I think even without Repsol, Hibiscus deserves much higher value in the light of higher crude price.

Does the acquisition come with any debt liability ?

Production has been falling so rapidly. What more bad news u want. The price fell in line with production. Latest production figures and expected future production estimate is only with the management. So they have asymmetric info and can easily exploit to their advantage. Not sign of a good corporate governance.

We don't even have update of their planned capacity ramp up which going by their announced timeline should have been done in oct 19. No word on it till now.

For me the question is can their steady state production be more than 1200 KG per year ? If yes, it is a steal at this price. Short term monthly fluctuation during start up for an year is all part of the game.

I try to understand the fundamentals. But I would agree that there seems to be a good amount of manipulation in price with this stock. In the long run price should catch up with fundamentals either way.

I am invested since 40 sen and didn't do anything. I was looking for gold and this is the only option in local mkt.

I don't think it will be 200 kgs and i don't think it will matter as much as u r trying to make it out. Qrtly result I think will have impact for a day or two. I think what matters is the outlook like future expected production and gold price.

Any idea about the ore capacity ramp up from 1200 to 2000 TPD ?

I am in the same place. I think the uptrend is intact with latest production figures. It has already gone up so much and so some correction is expected and good for the health of the price. Business fundamentals are changing and so is the price point. Some juice certainly out with such phenomenal rise over the past few weeks. I think from high speed to normal speed from now on.

So it is quoting ex bonus, ex warrant. So what's the point in talking about all that. The price is also ex bonus and ex warrant. Earlier the price was also higher.

Now the total diluted shares after conversion will be 1.2 billion or more. Have the warrants not been factored in this 1.2 Bn?

The price u invested in is immaterial and irrelevant today. So please talk of the current price - whether it is a buy or hold or sell. Stock price cud be technical in short term but is based on fundamentals in the long term. U haven't come out with EPS estimate. I sense this to be a high speed train to be stayed clear off. I think business fundamentals are shifting with good increasing gold production.

I think the debt has been falling since they are paying back which means they are generating good cash. Now I think debt level is comfortable at around 400+ million. With low oil price , AAX should be able to pay this debt back in no time.

is this real gold that they own or only contracts which need to be settled. If contract then how will they get the money and if it is real gold inventory then from where they got all the money from ? Aren't they then holding so much gold inventory whose worth is a billion RM. Super rich company?

What makes you assume that warrant will have a premium of 20 %

when is the rights opening and closing date. ? I don't understand why they give dividend and then raise money again from those to whom it gave dividend. It like giving with one hand and taking it with the other. They will dilute the equity also which is not good.

Why has the dividend fallen from 3 to 2 sen for this year? why is the stock price falling? any thing negative...

1. Good Management with Strong track record and good governance.
2. Good Growth of at least 20 % over the last 5 years and likely to continue over the next few years.
3. High ROE of more than 20 %.
4. PER in the range of 5 to 10.
5. Good cash flows.
6. Asset light business, strong brand


I can take calculated risk but not speculate. I have no idea about malaysian economy and corporations. If you could help with a research report , that will be very good.
