COVID-19: Indonesia berisiko antara paling teruk terjejas di dunia

JAKARTA: Selepas lebih sebulan membuka semula ekonomi negara secara berperingkat, Indonesia menyaksikan jangkitan dan kematian COVID-19 meningkat dua kali ganda, apabila orang ramai kembali memenuhi pusat penularan seperti Jakarta.

Pakar memberi amaran, negara itu berdepan risiko untuk muncul sebagai antara negara paling teruk terjejas di dunia.


Indonesia merekodkan 86,521 kes dan 4,143 kematian setakat Ahad lalu, dua kali ganda berbanding bulan lalu.

Kerajaan pusat dan pihak berkuasa tempatan secara berperingkat menarik semula peraturan penjarakan sosial bermula minggu pertama Jun.

Menjelang 18 Jun, Kementerian Kesihatan merekodkan 41,431 jangkitan dan 2,276 kematian di seluruh negara, mengatasi Singapura buat kali pertama sebagai negara dengan kes paling tinggi di ASEAN.

Sebahagian besar wilayah terus menunjukkan peningkatan dalam jumlah kes dan kematian, termasuk Jakarta, dengan kes positif meningkat 10.5 peratus minggu lalu.

Setakat Sabtu, jumlah kes terkumpul di Indonesia melepasi perangkaan rasmi dilaporkan di China, iaitu lokasi virus berkenaan dikesan buat kali pertama.

China pada Sabtu merekodkan 83,644 kes terkumpul menurut Pusat Kawalan dan Pencegahan Penyakit (CDC). - AGENSI
