Breaking new high must be accompanied by increasing volume to be convincing. It is quite ok if it stays around this price today, as long as it closes slightly higher. It is a day of consolidation.
Technicals for next target of 0.70 are still intact. Next week will be interesting.

Net cash per share is more than the 71sen calculated by Faye Tan.
There's another 9.5sen per share from another land disposal bringing net cash to 80 sen per share:

For GOB to trade at 1.00 is not so far fetched.

If there ever will be a special dividend, it will not be until the sale is completed. This will be well into next year. By that time the market may have gone to west sky.

You can buy Tropicana at 90sen! Haha!
GOB will be like another L&G; cash rich but share price languish.
2015-09-18 11:13 | Report Abuse
Take a look at L&G if you are interested in cash-rich stock. Net cash is more than 0.30 per share, It is trading at 0.43. You should buy the lot!
Asset/cash rich does not count for much if you can't generate income from the asset/cash.
I would rather have the mall yield 35m a year that have the cash in the bank yielding 2.5%!!

The prospect of recurrent income would have brought about a re-rating of the stock. That is now gone.
This is evidence that the big boys have their eyes on the cash rather than enhancing share value.

Pray hard they don't go and buy a huge asset at a grossly inflated price.

Selling off the jewel in the crown. Not a decision that favour minority shareholders.
God only knows where the surplus cash will end up.
2015-09-08 12:22 | Report Abuse
Seriously, why would they sell the mall? To me it is the jewel in the crown. At least worth 50 sen if not 70 sen per share.
This is the kind of recurring income that can bring about a re-rating of the stock.
2015-09-08 12:01 | Report Abuse
I don't see the rationale to dispose of the shopping mall. Unless it is a failure but then nobody would want it anyway.
Assuming just 70% take up at a conservative average rental psf of RM10:
420,000 x 0.70 x 10 x 12 = RM35,000,000 gross yield p.a.
Allowing 20% costs gives a net yield of RM28m or about 5 sen per share. This is recurring income, worth at least a PE of 10 times. The yield from the mall alone is worth least 50 sen per share.
What is the share price now?

Vamp, ocpd - do u know if P1 owes GP any money or not? I can only guess there must be some loans to P1 that must be repaid. I don't know how much.
The initial capital injection of 350m will be used to pay off P1 suppliers and some creditors. GP may be due to receive some of this 350m.
Anyone knows how much the inter-company loan? Please reveal here, thanks very much.

Recovery in TM will may save GP for the time being. Further out GP will rise gradually.
I can't see anything seriously wrong in the deal for TM. Just imagine if TM were to start from scratch. Not just have to spend far more money, there is also the value of time. Now TM's ambitions are fast-tracked several years. The truth is TM got P1 on the cheap. P1 likely to be profitable in FY 2016.
Compare that with YTLP's YES. After 4 years (i think) it is still bleeding cash - far more than P1. Unlikely to be profitable for another 3 years at least.
TM's mobile broadband business would have taken 2 years to be profitable vs YES's 7 years (at least).
What's past is past. Sunk is sunk. Forget the numbers in the books. Look to the future. In 3 years, I hope P1 to have only 20% of the capitalisation of DIGI (42b) or Maxis (52b). You work out how much per GP share that will be.
2014-03-27 23:18 | Report Abuse
Essentially, GP gives up 27% in P1 (original 57% less eventual 30%) to have a strong and valuable partner in TM. The alternative was insolvency. Now it has a bright and prosperous future, albeit a much diluted one.
Say, after the new shareholdings are sorted out, P1 is listed. How much do you think will be the capitalisation? 2b? GP's 30% = 600m = 0.85 per GP share. Even at 1.5b, GP's share is 450m = 0.64 ps. Not too bad, really. Future even better.

Market does not value cash in the bank as much as it does recurrent income.
Would have been far better if they kept the shopping mall. Shares would be valued much higher.
