Just done some research on BIM, quite an interesting topic I would say. Definitely gonna change how traditional construction gonna work
Some useful article

Building information modeling (BIM) is one of the more promising developments in the architecture, engineering, and construction fields.
It is changing the way contractors and engineers do business, but its application is still relatively new and there is much to learn.
One way to learn is from observing how other businesses are using BIM and their trials and tribulations along the way. BIM was introduced over a decade ago mainly to distinguish the information-rich architectural 3D modeling from the traditional 2D drawing.
It is being acclaimed by its advocates as a lifesaver for complicated projects because of its ability to correct errors early in the design stage and accurately schedule construction.
Although over recent years, the term “building information modeling” or “BIM” has gained widespread popularity, it has failed to gain a consistent definition.
According to Patrick Suermann, PE, a National Building Information Model Standard (NBIMS) testing team leader, “BIM is the virtual representation of the physical and functional characteristics of a facility from inception onward. As such, it serves as a shared information repository for collaboration throughout a facility's life cycle.”
The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) sees it as “a digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a facility…and a shared knowledge resource for information about a facility forming a reliable basis for decisions during its life cycle, defined as existing from earliest conception to demolition.”
But generally speaking, BIM technology allows an accurate virtual model of a building to be constructed digitally. Completed computer-generated models contain accurate and well-defined geometry and pertinent data required to facilitate the construction, fabrication, and procurement activities necessary to realize the final building.

Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who attended the event, said, “The pandemic made us pause and reflect on the simple things that truly matter like friendships and camaraderie.”
He praised MGS for organising events which fostered closer ties between Malaysia and Germany.
Oktoberfest has been held annually at the MGS premises along Jalan Air Itam since 1972, except for 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
German Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Peter Blomeyer said the celebration originated in Bavaria and was now the world’s biggest “Volksfest” or people’s festival, attracting millions of people.
Also relishing the merriment were honorary consul of Germany in Penang Datuk Hans Brenner, MGS president Dr Wolfgang Mark, former Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng and state tourism and creative economy committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin.

Oktoberfest returned to Penang after a two-year hiatus at the Malaysian-German Society (MGS).
Revellers from all walks of life let their hair down on the dance floor as Bavarian brass band Frankenrauber belted out “oompah” numbers.
The atmosphere was electric as the crowd raised their glasses and chanted “Ein Prosit der Gemutlich-keit”.

Both benchmarks plunged more than 3% on Wednesday on news the planned price cap on Russian oil could be above the current market level.
European Union governments remained split over what level to cap Russian oil prices at to curb Moscow's ability to pay for its war in Ukraine without causing a global oil supply shock, with more talks possible on Friday if positions converge.
The G7 group of nations is looking at a cap on Russian seaborne oil at US$65-US$70 a barrel, a European official said, though European Union governments have yet to agree on a price.

Benchmark Brent oil edged lower on Thursday while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude held steady, hovering in sight of two-month lows as the level of a proposed G7 cap on the price of Russian oil raised doubts about how much it would limit supply.
A bigger-than-expected build in US gasoline inventories and widening Covid-19 controls in China also added downward pressure on crude prices.
Brent crude futures were down 29 cents, or 0.3%, to US$85.12 a barrel by 15.15 p.m. ET (2015 GMT), while US WTI crude futures rose 2 cents, to US$77.96.

Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) CEO Datuk Ahmad ’Asri Abdul Hamid concurs, noting that ongoing projects that were awarded before the pandemic are especially affected, as the projects are priced lower, with no allowance for price increases, owing to the hike in building material prices.
“This resulted in the contractors having their profits reduced or, in some cases, suffering losses. Despite this, the contractors still have to continue executing the projects until completion,” he says in an email response to questions from The Edge.
“As for new contracts, contractors can manage by pricing in the current material prices and quoting prices, with sufficient margins, to cover unexpected costs, including unforeseen increases in material prices.”
While contractors from both the public and private sectors are affected by the increase in material prices, the VOP clause was reintroduced for government contracts on July 15, 2021, to mitigate the impact of material price increases.

Malaysia has done fairly well in terms of getting people vaccinated and is recognised by the World Health Organisation and other healthcare bodies.
He said the border opening was a sagacious move from the government considering that 98 per cent of the population got vaccinated and Malaysia was ahead of her neighbours in the south and the north.
"The border opening sent positive signals to the market that the Malaysian economy and its people were ready for business to kick-start the economic momentum at a faster rate to achieve the desired economic recovery.”

Political stability adds strength to the economy and boosts investors’ confidence in the country, said Juwai IQI global chief economist Shan Saeed.
"Political stability is part of macroeconomic stability and is embedded in the equation. It is perhaps the most important variable in the macroeconomic calculus.”
It is of no secret that global investors also value countries with a stable government with strong policy framework, he told Bernama in a recent interview.

The company’s gas processing business’ earnings will largely sustain into quarters ahead protected by existing long-term contracts with PETRONAS while the gas transportation and regasification segments long term prospects are protected under the regulated asset base structure.
HLIB Research, however warned PetGas’ short term earnings remain affected by higher internal gas consumption and increasing fuel price before possibly recovering in the subsequent review period for RP2 (2023-2025).
The research house maintained its “hold” call on the counter with a TP of RM17.85.
“While we expect PetGas to continue maintaining its dividend payout given its high current net cash position of 89 sen per share, we expect earnings to remain affected by the increasing fuel costs in the near term, on top of the Prosperity Tax impact for the year as well as uncertainty on new tariff structure under RP2 2023-2025,” it said.

KUALA LUMPUR (April 25): Kenanga Research has upgraded CTOS Digital Bhd to "outperform" (OP) at RM1.52 with a higher target price (TP) of RM2 (from RM1.85) and said the company’s 1QFY22 normalised PATAMI of RM16.9 million (+3% y-o-y) and interim dividend of 0.32 sen are both deemed to be within expectations.
In a note on Monday (April 25), the research house said it anticipates progressively healthier earnings in the coming quarters fuelled by both organic and inorganic growth in the company’s credit information and analytics solutions divisions.
“Following the recent share price weakness, we believe current levels present a buying opportunity.
Kenanga said CTOS is likely to continue benefiting from the increasing demand for credit information checks and analytics capabilities.
“We believe demand for such services will only increase as a consequence of economic recovery and lending needs,” it said.
The research house said the recent acquisition of stake in RAM Holdings, BOL and JurisTech is poised to deliver inorganic growth while still staying true to the firm’s core business line.
“The ongoing integration of JurisTech into the group could materialise into scalable end-to-end digital lending solutions.
“Upgrade to OP with a higher TP of RM2 (from RM1.85),” it said.

BANK Negara Malaysia is understood to be on track to announce this week the five winners of digital banking licences in the country. In the first half of 2021, some 29 applicants submitted their bids.
Front runners in the bid are said to include the 60:40 joint venture (JV) between RHB Bank Bhd and Axiata Group Bhd via its fintech arm Boost; a JV between Grab Holdings Inc and Singapore’s telco group Singapore Telecommunications, or Singtel, with a consortium of investors that includes the Kuok Group; and a consortium led by Sunway Bhd.
Also tipped as a front runner is YTL Corp Bhd, which has reportedly submitted a bid with Singapore’s Sea Group.
It is understood that the central bank is also seeking one consortium that could meet the criteria for the provision of Islamic financial services in the country, in order to cater to this segment while also incorporating Islamic finance as one of its key vehicles to advance sustainability-related efforts.

“As the raw material supply has returned to a healthy level, we anticipate that HeveaBoard should see sequential improvement in 2QFY22 (second quarter of FY22). This improvement is further bolstered by the increasing particleboard export sales to the Japanese market that fetch a better margin compared to other export markets.
“While we are cognizant that glue cost is increasing following the oil price hike, we understand that the price level is still below its peak in December 2021,” he added.
At 10.31am on Wednesday, HeveaBoard shares gained one sen or 1.9% to 53.5 sen, giving the particleboard manufacturer a market capitalisation of RM300.93 million.
