Ultraman Comic Falls To Home Ministry Ban

KUALA LUMPUR — The Home Ministry has done what countless monsters and space aliens could not: Vanquish Ultraman.

According to a report by national news agency Bernama today, the ministry issued a ban on the publication of the Bahasa Malaysia edition of the comic book, “Ultraman the Ultra Power”, for allegedly containing elements detrimental to public order.

“It is an offence under Section 8 (2) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 for any person to print, import, produce, reproduce, publish, sell, distribute, offer to sell or have in his possession for any such purpose the banned publication,” the ministry said in a statement.

The statement was not yet available on the ministry’s website this evening, but an official verified the ban when contacted by The Malay Mail Online today.

"Yes, KDN has banned the book ‘Ultraman the Ultra Power’," the official said in a brief text message. KDN is the Malay acronym for the Home Ministry.

The ministry added that a gazette was issued on February 18 banning the comic that is published by Resign Publications and printed by Network Printers.

It is unclear what aspect of the comic had led to the ban.

Ultraman is a fictional Japanese superhero who fights “Kaiju” (monsters), and first appeared on television in the 1960s.

It later gained popularity worldwide, including in Malaysia, leading to localised versions of the TV series and comic books.

Would he apologise or he is one the political “goblins” exposed by Teresa Kok’s “Onederful Malaysia” which is playing the role of the magic mirror exposing “goblins”?

It is not Teresa Kok who should apologise for her “Onederful Malaysia” video as nobody could prove the video is anti-Malay, anti-Islam and anti-Royalty but Abdul Rahman Dahlan who must apologise for his racist tweets which showed he is not Minister for all Malaysians.

Ahmad Rahman told Sin Chew and China Press yesterday he could not understand me as I had taken conflicting position asking the PKR Penang Assemblyman for Machang Bubok Lee Khai Loon to apologise for stuffing kangkung into the mouth of effigy of Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak in a kangkung flash-mob demo against price hikes, while I had not asked Teresa Kok to apologise.

I am puzzled by Abdul Rahman’s lack of understanding as he does not seem to have as high an IQ as I thought he had.

I advise him to read up my explanations which are available on my blog and facebook on the Internet, and if he is still puzzled, I am prepared to take time to explain to him why there is no inconsistency in my stand in the cases of Lee Khai Loon and Teresa Kok.

Even now, I reiterate I will ask Teresa Kok to retract and apologise for the “Onederful Malaysia” video if Abdul Rahman or anyone else can show me where the video is anti-Malay, anti-Islam or anti-Malay Rulers as alleged by him and the political desperadoes in the Malaysian political landscape who are incessantly inciting racial and religious hatred, conflict and tensions based on lies and falsehoods.

I await an answer from Abdul Rahman.

Many more goblins were exposed

The “magic mirror” effect of Teresa Kok’s video has already exposed many “goblins” in the Malaysian political landscape, like UMNO Ministers and MCA/Gerakan leaders, like

> UMNO National Vice Chairman and Urban and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, who accused the video of ridiculing the Malaysian security forces and the Lahat Datu incursion tragedy, when there was no reference whatsoever to both items in the video;

> Umno National Vice Chairman and Home Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who disgraced the high office of Home Minister when he failed to uphold the rule of law and instead embraced the law of the jungle;

> The 小人 xiăorén in the MCA the Gerakan national leaderships who misled UMNO Ministers and leaders into believing that Teresa Kok’s video was anti-Malay, anti-Islam and anti-Malay Rulers.

Many others are still to be exposed by the “magic mirror” of Teresa Kok’s video. I will like to see who are the other “goblins” in the Malaysian political landscape who will be exposed in the coming weeks and months.

In the Chinese folklore, there is a magic mirror which reveals goblins 照妖镜 [zhào yāo jìng] which now also applies to exposing conspiracies and other nefarious designs.

DAP National Vice Chairman and MP for Seputeh Teresa Kok’s “Onederful Malaysia CNYT 2014” has the effect of a 照妖镜 or a magic mirror exposing the goblins in the Malaysian political landscape.

One of the “goblins” exposed by Teresa Kok’s “magic mirror’ of the “Onederful Malaysia CNYT 2014” is none other than the UMNO Housing and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan who gave full backing to the Home Minister, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi when the latter embraced the law of the jungle instead of upholding the rule of law when he said there was no need for the police to investigate a group of Muslim NGOs who offered a reward of RM500 later increased to RM1,200 for anyone who slapped Teresa Kok, as well as indulged in a “chicken slaughtering and blood-smearing” demonstration against DAP and Pakatan Rakyat leaders.

Abdul Rahman, the false liberal full of artificial emotings

In his series of tweets, Abdul Rahman said Teresa Kok should not play victim when threatened by Muslim groups.

He made the wild and baseless allegation that the DAP had “relentlessly attacked the position of Malays and Muslims”, tweeting:

"Maybe the DAP don't understand. To Malays, insulting the Agong and Islam is more painful and degrading than a slap.

"Since 2008, the DAP has relentlessly attacked the position of Malays and Islam. When there is a reaction from Malays, the DAP acts as if they are victims. Crazy!"

In a tweet exchange with DAP's Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng, Abdul Rahman gave his blessing to the “slap offer” by the Muslim groups (which the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Tan Sri Joseph Kurup said could only be the work of people of “unsound mind”) adding:

"Don't act stupid, YB. You reap what you sow!"

I had challenged Abdul Rahman to substantiate his wild and baseless allegation that the DAP “had relentless attacked the position of Malays and Islam since 2008” and had insulted the Yang di Pertuan Agong.

Five days have passed and Abdul Rahman has not been able substantiate his wild allegations against the DAP. As a gentleman Abdul Rahman would have apologised for making wild and baseless allegations against the DAP, which he could not substantiate.

MCA has turned its back on the Chinese community and on the principles of reason and fair play by asking DAP Seputeh MP Teresa Kok to apologise over her controversial Chinese New Year video, an opposition politician said today.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng (pic) said instead of asking Kok to apologise, MCA should have demanded that action be taken against those who offered a cash reward to anyone who slapped her.

"This only proved that there was no change in MCA's submissiveness to Umno, even under its new leadership.

"DAP does not need MCA to give such advice but will ask Teresa Kok to apologise if she indeed had poked fun at the Sulu terrorist intrusion in Lahad Datu last year.

"If the Umno racists and their MCA apologists had seen the video clip, they would know that it was clearly directed at the kidnap-murder of Taiwanese tourists in Sabah," Lim said in a statement today.

As such, Lim called on newly-minted MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai to stop bowing down to Umno.

He pointed out that Liow should heed the advice of outgoing Sarawak chief minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, who advised his would-be successor to keep Umno's brand of racially divisive politics out of the state.

Lim also said that instead of watching the video to seek the truth, both Umno and MCA had distorted the issue to divide Malaysians so that they can divert attention from the price hikes which are burdening Malaysians.

"It is MCA and BN that should apologise to all Malaysians for the price hikes and also the drop in the value of Malaysian ringgit, seen in the record low of RM 2.62 to one Singapore dollar," he said.

Last Thursday, a group of Islamic NGOs slaughtered two chickens and offered a RM1,200 reward to anyone who dared to slap Kok as a sign of anger towards opposition leaders for allegedly insulting the Malay leadership and Islam.

The group then smeared the blood of the slaughtered chickens on a banner featuring photographs of Kok and Guan Eng, DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang and Machang Bubuk PKR assemblyman Lee Khai Loon.

The act was carried out in Kuala Lumpur as a sign of protest against the opposition leaders who were alleged to have insulted the “Malay leadership, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Islam and Malay dignity".

The focus of the group, which called itself the Council of Islamic NGOs, was Kok and her Chinese New Year greeting video, "Onederful Malaysia CNY 2014".

Yesterday, MCA deputy president Datuk Wee Ka Siong has advised Kok to apologise over her video clip for the good of Malaysians.

He said Kok should be more sensitive and mature in airing messages to the public as espoused in Chinese culture.

Lim, howevr, said that MCA had shown complete disconnect from the aspirations of the Chinese community who wanted justice and freedom and who were firmly opposed to discrimination, violence and oppression of human rights. – February 11, 2014.

The false allegations made against me by MCA leaders include: -

1. MCA Wanita chief Heng Seai Kie who accused me of tarnishing the image of the nation’s leaders and even questioned my patriotism
2. MCA Alor Gajah MP Koh Nai Kwong who accused me of mocking the Lahad Datu incident and our security forces
3. A Selangor MCA leader accused me of raising sensitive issues

Yesterday MCA deputy president Datuk Wee Ka Siong talked about “curses others”. I demand Wee to show which part of my video “curses others” ?

If Teresa’s video is anti-Malay and anti-Islam, why is it so difficult for someone to point this out publicly?

This is in fact the best proof that while one can disagree with Teresa’s video – with some particularly in MCA and Gerakan claiming that it is in bad taste to produce such a CNY video with stinging criticisms of the Barisan Nasional government in failing to resolve the people’s hardships and grievances arising from price hikes, fall in educational standards, high crime rates and rampant corruption in the country – it could not be faulted for being anti-Malay and anti-Islam.

I have always suspected that UMNO Ministers and leaders have been led by the nose and “poisoned” by Chinese leaders in MCA and Gerakan as the Teresa video issue as they do not understand the dialogue which is in Mandarin and Cantonese, and misinformed into believing that Teresa’s video was a most ferocious and aggressive attack on the Malays and Islam.

Wee’s statement at the Sabah MCA CNY dinner appears to be “the smoking gun” that it is the MCA who are the “unseen hands” misleading UMNO Ministers to spearhead the vicious demonization campaign against Teresa’s video on the completely false allegation that it is anti-Malay and anti-Islam.

Wee and the top MCA leadership should cease and desist, and not be so unprincipled and unscrupulous as to stoop so low to “poison” and mislead UMNO Ministers and leaders into believing that Teresa’s video is anti-Malay and anti-Islam when there is nothing anti-Malay or anti-Islam in the video.

If Wee believes that Teresa’s video is anti-Malay and anti-Islam, then let him declare how Teresa’s video is anti-Malay and anti-Islam.

Otherwise, has Wee and the new MCA leaders including the MCA President Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai got the courage, ethics and principle to declare publicly that there is nothing anti-Malay or anti-Islam in Teresa’s video and that UMNO Ministers and leaders have been completely misled.

It is public knowledge that Wee and the top MCA leaders are only pre-occupied with one issue – how to get back to Cabinet and government after being out in the wilderness for nine months.

They should be more concerned about political principles and honour.

They should ask the Prime Minister and Cabinet to repudiate and reprimand the Home Minister, Datuk Ser Zahid Hamidi for condoning and absolving the self-styled “Council for Islamic NGOs” in their slew of crimes, including criminal intimidation, sedition, incitement of violence against woman, incitement of violence against a Member of Parliament, incitement of another May 13 riots, and declare that unless the Prime Minister and Cabinet repudiate and reprimand Zahid for his irresponsible stand that there was nothing for the police to investigate against “Council for Islamic NGOs” despite police reports lodged by DAP and Pakatan Rakyat MPs and State Assembly members , there is no purpose of MCA returning to be Ministers and members of such a disreputable and dishonourable Government.

MCA is clearly behind the plot to mislead UMNO Ministers to spearhead the vicious demonization campaign against DAP National Vice Chairman and MP for Seputeh Teresa Kok falsely accusing her video, “Onederful Malaysia CNY 2014” as being anti-Malay and anti-Islam, and therefore deserving not only downright condemnation by all right-thinking Malaysians but also the fullest punishment whether under the laws of the land or the law of the jungle.

I have come to this conclusion after reading the Bernama report of the statement by the MCA deputy president, Datuk Dr. Wee Ka Siong, at the Sabah MCA CNY dinner in Kota Kinabalu last night, where he advised Teresa to apologise for her video clip “for the good of Malaysians”.

Present at the Sabah MCA CNY dinner in Kota Kinabalu were the Sabah Yang diPertua Negeri, Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman and Urban and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

What interested me was the presence of Apdal, the first UMNO/BN leader to open up the attack on Teresa on the video on the completely baseless grounds that the video “Onederful Malaysia” lampooned the Malaysian security forces and the Lahad Datu incursion tragedy.

When it was pointed out that the video contained no reference whatsoever to the security forces or the Lahad Datu tragedy, then one UMNO Minister after another joined the fray and accused Teresa’s video of being anti-Malay and anti-Islam.

Who misled Apdal into opening the attack on Teresa’s video, when clearly Apdal could not have understood the Mandarin or Cantonese dialogue in the video, and who were responsible for misleading other UMNO Ministers and leaders, as well as Muslim NGOs into believing that Teresa’s video was anti-Malay and anti-Islam – like the six NGOs which styled themselves the “Council for Islamic NGOs” which conducted the disgraceful blood-splattered “chicken slaughtering” demonstration last Thursday, committing a slew of offences such as sedition, criminal intimidation, incitement of another May 13 riots as well as incitement of violence against a woman MP when RM1,200 was publicly offered to anyone who slapped Teresa Kok?

I have right from the beginning suspected that there were “unseen hands” manipulating UMNO Ministers, leaders and so-called Islamic NGOs, to launch a vicious demonization campaign against Teresa on the ground that her video was anti-Malay and anti-Islam, for two reasons: (i) the allegations that Teresa’s video is anti-Malay and anti-Islam were completely baseless; and (ii) the many UMNO Ministers, leaders and “Islamic NGOs” taking umbrage raises questions as the language in the dialogue in the video was in Cantonese and Mandarin.

I made a standing invitation more than a week ago to be “educated” as to how Teresa’s video is anti-Malay and anti-Islam, and this invitation remains open and valid – for I really want to know how Teresa’s video could be described as anti-Malay and anti-Islam.

Teresa would be going against DAP principle and policy if she produces a video which is anti-Malay and anti-Islam, as the DAP had always stood for a Malaysia for all Malaysians, regardless of race or religion.

What kind of deal did our government make with these companies? If the highway is so lucrative why did the government privatise it? No money to build I think was one reason. With such a win-all-the-way deal any bank will gladly loan a government the money. Right? Cannot lose one ma. So why did our government privatise it?

Can some genius economist please help poor slobs like me to understand ah? Otherwise, life here is getting quite unbearable la.
