Verdon said all this showed his continuous campaign against PTIs has achieved the objectives that it forced those harbouring PTIs to show themselves by doing whatever makes them satisfied.
“All these had been planned well before they take action, so definitely there are individual(s) or party who hires as well as protects them,” he said.
He said these are acts by coward(s) who actually do not realise that what they are doing will only make it faster for them to be traced by the authority.

“I don’t have a business enemy or make enemies with other people. I believe all this had to do with my OAS campaign lately.
“Definitely my OAS movement has created a problem for them (those who harbour PTIs). Definitely they are worried when thinking about my continuous campaigning (against PTIs) is more and more threatening them and their position,” he said.
It started out with a threat of “Verdon Halal di bunu (Verdon deserved to be killed)” that came with a picture of a pistol and bullet magazine he received on Facebook, followed by criticisms against him in social media.

Vandalised for speaking out against illegals

KOTA KINABALU: Orang Asal Sabah (OAS) activist Datuk Verdon Bahanda, who has been vocal about the illegal immigrant (PTI) problem in Sabah to the extent of getting death threats, lodged another report after his office at Iramanis, here, was splashed with yellow paint.
Believing this to be connected to the threats and criticisms made against him in social media lately, he has offered RM10,000 to those with information that could lead to the arrest of the culprit(s) involved.
“I believe this is connected to the death threat on me that went viral last week and I am confident this is done by ‘paid thugs’ or obsessed followers of those harbouring PTIs.

Yeah guys, So it is time we should give him the honour. As Anwar said, he may not be perfect, but look at the leaders the nation is under.

Look at some of those being freed from cases involving hundreds of millions of ringgit and even billions. These are the leaders that are now in charge of the Treasury.

The nation and its people are in danger. The pillars holding the nation are collapsing around them. All government agencies are now placed in compromising positions. Principles and integrity are thrown out of the window.

The new normal is money, position and power. And also, to attain it at any cost. Even to the extent if it destroys the nation.

That is why we need leaders with principles. We can only dream of a perfect leader. But a leader like Anwar who stood by his principles must be given that opportunity to prove his words and promises.

The time is now - or it might be too late to save this nation.

The racial sentiments against non Malays in Malaysia has gone to the point of no return. Few weeks ago they harrassed and threatened the lives of two Selangor DAP state assembly women in social media. The PN government will just ignore this phonomena as they were ones who brought this anti non malay sentiments in the country.

She shed light on the poor conditions and amenities at the centre. She said the women lacked sanitary pads and food, and she was asked to get milk and diapers for the woman’s baby.

The posting gathered mixed reactions, with some in support of the migrants and some in condemnation.

However, one user said: “Go hang yourself!”

“The tone of the conversation has shifted quite a bit. People used to not be so extreme,” she said.

Quah pleaded to Malaysians to view the refugee and migrant community as fellow humans and to get to know them as individuals.

She said many of them fled their countries simply because it was a life or death situation while falling victim to scams and human trafficking syndicates.

“I’m quite surprised that people are under the impression that it’s much better for them here when it’s not. They still live in fear of their safety.

“We are really privileged to not be born under the same circumstances as them, but what if we were? How would we want to be treated and addressed then?” she asked.

She urged government leaders to consider the contributions of migrants and refugees towards building the nation, particularly by those working in hard labour.

She urged Putrajaya to learn how to utilise these resources and build on their strength, adding that a chunk of the economy was realistically dependent on these communities.

“The more we regulate things and have laws in place, when it’s less of a grey area, everyone contributes more effectively to the system,” she said

“It’s okay if you want to disengage, but don’t come to a point of threatening my safety. Don’t come to a point of attacking my family and race,” said Quah, who was also called names such as “pendatang” (immigrant) and “pengkhianat negara” (traitor to the country).

“I’m trying to understand why some people feel that it is such a threat when I speak up about what’s happening in the centres,” she told FMT.

Others in the field were also receiving similarly hateful comments. She said she plans to lodge a report with the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.

In her initial Facebook post, Quah described her experience in working with a woman who had been detained at an immigration detention depot right after giving birth to a child.

Why do they hate us, says harassed chief of refugee NGO

PETALING JAYA: The leader of a local NGO says she has faced a barrage of hateful comments on social media after she shed light on the plight of refugees and migrants.

One Facebook user went as far as telling her to kill herself, said Heidy Quah, the founder of Refuge for the Refugees, in an online posting expressing deep disappointment over the harassment.

Quah said she was perplexed by the degree of hatred some Malaysians held against refugees and migrants. She said the level of hate comments has spiked of late, particularly during the movement control order period.

There are no 2 ways about it.

The charge should not have been withdrawn because :
1.The prosecution led by Sri Ram had informed the High Court judge presiding that they have a strong case. That they were bewilderd why Ghani Patel did not want to prosecute.
2. Former AG Ghani Patel is from Sabah too and relative of Musa A man. He should have disqualified himself from the case from making decision.
3. Musa Aman has admitted to the receipt of rm 340 million but says it was for political donation. This is no defence.
The money had gone into his accounts.
4. Rm 340 million received by Musa Aman was as an inducement for him to grant logging concessions ripping of Sabah forests. The concessions were worth billions of ringgit. This is clear corruption.
5.He had not declared this money. Thus clear case of money laundering.

In the national interest police report should be lodged against AG for :
1.Failure to act judiciously. This is because he received the file and papers on 6/6 and Case withdrawn on 9/6.
How could he have gone in detail through the whole evidence of the 46 charges.
2. How could rely of the former AG affidavit who had left in 2012.
3. In 2018 the Macc had reopened file and said strong evidence and recommended AG to charge Muss Aman.

Musa Aman has cost huge loss to the country. Perhaps Tuanku Rulers will look into it as it affects national interest.

The prosecution should file appeal against acquittal and or ask for revision of case.

How could this day light robbery be condoned.
The AG must answer and in national interest be removed.

A hot war between US and China is in nobody's interest. China is not ready now, even for a little hot war in the South China Sea let alone military ambitions for Taiwan. The same old Sunzhi art of war applies, win a war without firing a shot! That's China's game. Can US has the patience?

While experts called for efforts to lower tensions in the lead-up to the US presidential election in November, most said that would largely hinge on Trump.
“Anything is possible with Trump,” Rigger said. “If he thinks better relations with China will help him win re-election, he will do whatever it takes to turn the relationship around. I’d be really surprised if the Chinese leadership didn’t respond positively to such an opportunity.”
But Zhu said it would be naive to pin hopes on Trump, who was desperate to play the China card in his re-election campaign.
“Beijing should be particularly cautious on Taiwan and the South China Sea disputes and should not engage in rhetorical tit-for-tat with Washington,” he said. “We need to look beyond the Trump presidency and prioritise the steady development of bilateral relations over the need to outcompete Trump.”

“One of the major lessons is that we’ve paid scant attention to the establishment of a series of mechanisms that have proven necessary during the Cold War era in preventing tensions spiralling out of control in the event of emergencies or a real crisis,” he said.
Beijing made clear its resentment over the warming ties between Washington and Taipei ahead of and during Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen’s inauguration on Wednesday, but a military confrontation over the self-ruled island in the near term was not likely, according to Rigger.
“The Chinese leadership surely understands the massive costs – in blood, treasure and reputation – of military action against Taiwan. They are way too smart to count on the US not intervening,” she said.
Rigger noted several retired PLA officers, including air force Major General Qiao Liang, had unusually toned down their hawkish stance on seeking reunification with Taiwan by force.
“That is a frustrating message for many Chinese to hear, but war is very costly and very unpredictable – something the US has learned through painful experience,” she said.

He said an international incident would put Trump and Xi on a reputational collision course, with each leader facing pressure to stand up to the other and not back down, given the mistrust and heated rhetoric.
“The danger, then, is an unforeseen spark, which could set off a frightening movement up the escalation ladder,” he added.
Zhao Tong, a senior fellow at the Carnegie-Tsinghua Centre for Global Policy in Beijing, also expressed concern that military incidents and conflicts with the US had become “less unimaginable given how quickly mutual animosity is building”.
Nationalist sentiment
In recent months, many senior Chinese diplomats have risen to Xi’s hardline, nationalist call and displayed their “fighting spirit”, often at the expense of the country’s global image.
“In future crises, if People’s Liberation Army officers, like some Chinese diplomats, calculate that it is in their personal interests to act extra tough, even if they know their aggression could cause war and cost China dearly, they might still feel incentivised to do so,” Zhao said.
To make things worse, according to Zhang Tuosheng, a security analyst from the China Foundation for International and Strategic Studies, Beijing and Washington had yet to set up an operational crisis management mechanism.

Seth Jaffe, assistant professor of political science and international affairs at John Cabot University in Rome and an expert on Greek history, said the Chinese think tank report was “profoundly concerning”.
“The acrimonious narratives surrounding Covid-19 are currently reshaping the attitudes of leaders and populations alike, which is leading to harder-line strategic postures, as evidenced by the hawkish CICIR report,” he said. “In this way, the virus blame game is stirring up nationalistic pride and grievance, narrowing the space for political leaders to manoeuvre, and creating zero-sum dynamics that invite future conflict – a vicious cycle.”
According to Jaffe, the author of Thucydides on the Outbreak of War: Character and Contest, although the temperaments of Trump and Xi would matter enormously in any actual crisis, it was the structural shifts in the balance of power in recent years that had brought the two sides closer to the brink.
The most likely collision scenario, he said, would be in the South China Sea.
“I still worry most about military close encounters associated with American freedom of navigation operations, which could rapidly escalate in unintended but dangerous directions, for example, in the direction of a serious naval conflict.”
