I think the next surge in a few years time is gonna be really really huge provided all banks remain sound and stay out of the non-performing loans problem that caused the 97/08 financial crisis.

I'm very sure Trump is using his tariff threat as a tool to shake out the market before the next surge. You can see despite all his tariff threats in 2018 that rattled the market to some extents, Dow still managed to climb back to record high. Now at the top, he has done it again.
