Personally for short term, I do not think its benefit investors if co issue ESOS cause its will impact profit and reduce dividend yield. :(

Reason for KO in selling maybe just maybe as follow;
1. As per OTB answer.
2. He investment cost much lower hence to realise profit by selling. I.e buy on Rumour & sell of Fact.
3. Personally need additional cash for other purpose or investment. Or ready cash to exercise the future ESOS.
4. As going to propose ESOS the future profit will be effected. Logical sell now & buy back latter via exercise of future ESOS.
This my 2 cents reasoning. :D
