Prefer Hartalega and Kossan instead.

We remain cautious on Supermax’s prospects as we do not yet see evidence of clearly defined catalysts. Therefore we maintain our NEUTRAL recommendation with a revised TP of MYR2.19 (11x FY16F P/E, 2% downside) from MYR2.16 previously. Prefer Hartalega and Kossan instead.

Delayed capacity increase. Lot 6058 and Lot 6059 were expected to be commissioned in Q4 2014, which would have increased the company’s nitrile glove capacity to 12.3bn pieces from 5.9bn pieces currently. We were unable to confirm this increase with management. Further we note that the commissioning of both these lots has been delayed since 1Q FY14.

Maintain NEUTRAL. We maintain our NEUTRAL with a revised TP of MYR2.19 (11x FY16F P/E, 2% downside) from MYR2.16 previously. This is pegged to its 3-year mean of its historical trading band. We believe this is justified due to the poor execution track record. Supermaxis also less skewed in the more lucrative nitrile glov e segment relative to its peers with only 35-40% of total capacity vs Hartalega’s 90% and Kossan’s 60%. The market could regain some confidence in the stock should Supermax deliver on the execution of Glove City and Supermax Business Park. Investors will need evidence of clearly defined catalystsfor the stock to move higher

Spanish fears mount In Spain, five people were isolated and dozens more monitored after a nurse in Madrid apparently caught Ebola while treating two elderly missionaries who died of the disease. One of the doctors treating Teresa Romero, the first person to contract Ebola outside West Africa, said she may have caught the deadly virus after touching her face with an infected glove.

The current federal government needs to be criticised if its policies do not benefit the country, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today. Dr Mahathir said it was expected of an elected government to make changes in its policies and laws to show its contributions to the country but it should not be above criticism if it did something that did not benefit the nation. "After I stepped down, policies changed and laws changed, that is expected. They want to show their own contribution to the country. (Reuters) - The United Nations said $600 million in supplies would be needed to fight West Africa's Ebola outbreak, as the death toll from the worst ever epidemic of the virus topped 1,900 and Guinea warned it had penetrated a new part of the country.

The pace of the infection has accelerated, and there were close to 400 deaths in the past week, officials said on Wednesday. It was first detected deep in the forests of southeastern Guinea in March.

U.N Chief Urges World to Help in Ebola Outbreak

UNITED NATIONS — Aug 12, 2014, 1:32 PM ET

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is pressing the international community to urgently respond to a shortage of doctors, nurses and equipment to stem the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

Ban said at a news conference Tuesday that a coordinated global response is essential.

Ban announced that he has appointed U.N. public health expert David Nabarro to coordinate the world body's effort to fight Ebola after consulting with U.N. health chief Margaret Chan.

Nabarro has led earlier U.N. efforts to combat infectious diseases, including SARS.

"We need to avoid panic and fear," Ban said. "Ebola can be prevented."

The WHO says more than 1,000 people have died in the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. The virus was detected in Guinea in March and has hit Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nigeria.

LONDON—The continuing spread of the Ebola virus in west Africa is driving up demand for protective medical gloves and increasing investor interest in Malaysian-based manufacturers of these products.

The current outbreak, which has claimed nearly 900 lives so far, has led to a rally in the share prices of rubber gloves manufacturers, according to an update on the sector from Hong Leong Investment Bank.

The Malaysian bank is monitoring the situation to see if the outbreak will be escalated to pandemic level. This, it said, could lead to an upgrade in the ratings of the sector.

WHO: Ebola outbreak is a public health emergency

The Associated PressAugust 8, 2014
LONDON — The World Health Organization has declared the Ebola outbreak in West Africa to be an international public health emergency that requires an extraordinary response to stop its spread.

On Friday, WHO announced the Ebola outbreak — the largest and longest in history — is worrying enough to merit being declared an international health emergency. WHO declared similar emergencies for the swine flu pandemic in 2009 and for polio in May.

GLOBAL MARKETS-Asian shares skid as Obama confirms air strikes on Iraq

TOKYO, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Asian shares tumbled on Friday as investors sought out safe-haven assets on growing fears that conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East could sap global growth, extending losses after U.S. President Obama said he had authorized air strikes in Iraq. Obama said in an address that he authorized targeted strikes to protect the besieged Yazidi minority and U.S. personnel in Iraq, after the Iraqi government requested help. "We can act carefully and responsibly to prevent a potential act of genocide," Obama told reporters at the White House. "I've therefore authorized targeted air strikes if necessary." U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the United Nations Security Council on Thursday called for the international community to help Iraq's government and people as the country struggles against a sweeping advance by Islamist militants.

Ebola's spread to US is 'inevitable' says US CDC chief

WASHINGTON - Ebola's spread to the United States is "inevitable" due to the nature of global airline travel, but any outbreak is not likely to be large, US health authorities said Thursday.

Already one man with dual US-Liberian citizenship has died from Ebola, after becoming sick on a plane from Monrovia to Lagos and exposing as many as seven other people in Nigeria.

More cases of Ebola moving across borders via air travel are expected, as West Africa faces the largest outbreak of the hemorrhagic virus in history, said Tom Frieden, the head of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The virus spreads by close contact with bodily fluids and has killed 932 people and infected more than 1,700 since March in Sierra Leone, Guinea, Nigeria and Liberia.

Level 1 is the highest on a 1-6 scale and signals that increased staff and resources will be devoted to the outbreak.

"Basically this activation allows us to pull resources from throughout the agency to respond to this," said CDC spokesman Tom Skinner.

Saudi Arabia health ministry announces it is testing man for suspected Ebola after returning from Sierra Leone business trip

Saudi Arabia is testing a man for suspected Ebola infection after he returned recently from a business trip to Sierra Leone, the health ministry said on Tuesday.

It said the man, a Saudi in his 40s, was at a hospital in the Red Sea city of Jeddah after showing "symptoms of viral haemorrhagic fever", which resemble symptoms of the Ebola virus.

The ministry said it had taken precautionary measures, including isolating the patient at a specialist hospital and had sent blood samples to an international laboratory in co-ordination with the World Health Organisation (WHO) for further checks.

Airport staff tonight told of their fears of an Ebola outbreak after a passenger from Sierra Leone collapsed and died as she got off a plane at Gatwick.

Workers said they were terrified the virus could spread globally through the busy international hub from the West African country which is in the grip of the deadly epidemic.

The woman, said to be 72, became ill on the gangway after she left a Gambia Bird jet with 128 passengers on board.

She died in hospital on Saturday.

Ebola has killed 256 people in Sierra Leone.

A total of 826 have died in West Africa since the outbreak began in February

WASHINGTON—The World Bank on Monday pledged as much as $200 million in emergency funding to help three West African nations fight the deadly Ebola epidemic following requests from the World Health Organization and officials from the three countries.

The bank said the financing would help pay for medical supplies, salaries and other materials urgently needed to stabilize the health systems in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, where the death toll has reached nearly 900
I am very worried that many more lives are at risk unless we can stop this Ebola epidemic in its tracks," World Bank President Jim Yong Kim said in a statement.

"The international community needs to act fast to contain and stop this Ebola outbreak," said Dr. Kim, a global public-health expert.

WHO Director-General Margaret Chan said last week that the outbreak, the worst on record, was moving faster than efforts to control it. Authorities in Africa's most populous nation, Nigeria, have confirmed a second case and have quarantined eight individuals who helped treat a Liberian-American who died of the disease in July.
Dr. Chan said funding is vital to help authorities slow transmission and prevent spread of the disease to other areas.

"The demands created by this unprecedented outbreak outstrip the capacity of affected countries in West Africa to respond," she said.
