@Joshk, Masteel bought technology from Danieli, Italy and SSteel and Annjo equipments were from ABB, Concast and Danieli. (Switzerland, Denmark and Itali) with proper anti-pollution equipment installed.
In term of quality, ssteel rank the best follow by Annjo, lion and Masteel.

The technology from Europe is pretty much advance and almost on par with japanese and korean like mitsubishi, kobe and Posco.

I had visited steel mill in China and all are very old and almost obsolete equipment with very low efficiency and very bad or no anti pollution equipment installed. That is the reason why they can produce very cheap rebar and wire rod as most of them are state own. Low cost but at the expend of polluted environment.

Today China is difference. The government realize that steel mill which is the most polluted industry will have to close. Beijing people cannot live in darkness of hazardous steel mill dust. There are cost they need to pay.

@GG_Liang, I don't try to defend Mr. OTB, but in stock market long enough i think your statement is not fair. There are many many factors and variable affecting share prices. We are talking about probability of winning if you understand.
OTB keep on saying his method of winning is 80% with his own proof. Very fair statement so if you loss money following his advise, it is probably your luck but if you follow many time, i think base on logic, you should be 8 times win and 2 times loss.

There is also element of luck, do more charity, talk good, do good and think good, luck will be on your side, i believe

Why institutional not coming in to the market? foreign fund had gone and slowly coming back. Only the retail are supporting ? very weird, sentiment no good.

But looking at the Masteel chart, it still up trend and good to buy on weakness.

80% of scrap are imported with denote in USD, Most of consumable like graphite electrode, refractories, spare parts and steel rollers are all imported. Local content like oxygen gas, fuel oil, electricity, labors etc.

With strengthening of RM of 5% there will be a saving of 3 to 4 millions RM a month. i guess

For 2018, most of construction projects are in kuala lumpur and johor not in Penang. Annjoo and southern steel both are in Penang.

If you take the transport cost from Penang to Kuala Lumpur and Johor. Both Annjoo and southern steel will have to bear the extra transportation cost of the price hike of natural gas of 25 per ton (250 thr' and fr KL/Penang by 10ton truck)

Masteel simply has the advantage of locality

This is the reason why it is stupid to built perwaja in Gurun and Trenganu. Furthermore Perwaja need to set up transport company with few hundreds trailers for the extra cost and many hundreds millions spent. This was government without business sense.

Masteel does not use natural gas and price hike will not affect the bottom line. Go google the electric arc furnace process and you can understand better. I know the process very well

Masteel does not use Natural gas. It uses a 80 ton/hr electric arc furnace. Natural gas price hike will not affect the bottom line. Big opportunity to collect. The gas hike will affect those with blast furnace like annjoo, perwaja

This sweeping statement mislead the masteel retail share holder.

Whenever share price more then RM10, you will see less contra players already and it will slow become zero. Only left are the investors either the retail or the institutional. At that time, you will see the price going up more steady.

Institutional investors not coming in yet, all the reasons for to add more. year end, they have to adjust their portfolio. be patient, guys

natural gas price increase affect most to blast furnace, not Masteel, Masteel using a 80 ton/hour elecric arc furnace. Energy consume mostly electricity, oxygen, heavy fuel oil for reheating furnace.

ASB also know simple mathematics so why should they sell at this price.
