MyEG Gets Boost From Higher Volume Of Online Renewal Services Friday, May 29 2015KUALA LUMPUR: Higher transaction volumes from its online services boosted My E.G. Services Bhd’s (MyEG) net profit for the third quarter ended March 31 by 38.8% to RM19.07mil from a year earlier.Announcing its results to Bursa Malaysia, it said the services involved were online renewal of foreign workers’ permits and insurance, online transfer of vehicle ownership. and online renewal of motor insurance and road tax.Revenue, meanwhile, expanded 27.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM38.97mil for the quarter.On seasonal factors, MyEG noted that revenue related to the Road Transport Department (RTD) from January to June had historically been about 50% higher than the RTD-related revenue for the second half of the year.This is because the demand for new driving licences generally increases due mainly to the long school holidays after the Government exams, where most 16 to 20-year olds would obtain their driving licences between January and June.Even before the Immigration Department announced in January that workers’ permit renewals must be done online, MyEG, which is a concessionaire for various Malaysia’s electronic-government flagship applications, had done well financially. In the first half of this financial year (July-Dec 2014), MyEG registered a net profit growth of 32.3% y-o-y to RM26.13mil.
