The whole idea of pumping out more oil is to kill US shale companies. Demand is also dropping due to less consumption during covid-19 lockdowns all over the world. Any SPM student can deduce what the outcome for oil price easily given the double-whammy of rise in supply and drop in demand. Unless you're an airhead like someone here la =)

Jeffrey, you have to look at the bigger picture than only your own pocket. Our country is quite reliant on o&g to do well. Petronas alone contributes 30% of our govt revenue. In times where oil price is low, yes you'll get to pump cheaper petrol but with lower govt revenue, you can expect low or no growth, inflation, or even worse, recession. Ringgit drop. Prices of goods increase especially imported goods. Govt may resort to certain unfavourable fiscal policies to balance their budget. A cut in spending or increase in tax rates or a mix of both. Bad times.

Dont worry too much la..SAPURA wont go below 8sen. and Brent Oil wont touch USD 20 as per Goldman Sach prediction.

Dont be surprise if Brent Oil go to USD 45. Russia and Arab Saudi will change its mind. Plus Arabs cannot stand low oil price for too long..

I think you beginner trader la apanama. You put your money in mutual funds la, at least won't lose so much. Don't be shy ya, I also have 20% in mutual funds. Kena diversify sikit. But for your level, you should put more la. But don't buy wrong fund ah. Itu growth fund very high risk you avoid.

I am strongly confident FBMKLCI wont break 1,300 , Dow Jones wont break 19,000 , Brent Crude Oil wont break USD 30.00. Ada sapa berani buat macam ni punya statement? :)

Brent oil will need to fall more or at least sideline longer until news of US shale companies shutting down then maybe Russia will cut back on its oil supply followed by members of OPEC. Although we all know new US companies will just come out and take over the bankrupted ones and shale oil is back in business.
